  • I just can't get past them. I've tried over a hundred times now and have given up. I love playing crossfire, have played all the different mods but this mission beat me. How can I "skip" this mission or get past the bombers so I can continue playing? I'd love to play more in freestyle and explore the crossfire "universe" but just can't. Please help.....:verysad:

  • difficulty setting in the options.

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • thanks alot, I finally got past it. But now I'm stuck on the mission escorting the "ghost" vessel to HQ. managed to bump it around so it got there to order HQ at mars but now it still wants to take me back to Jupiter ?!!?!?!? what's the fix??

  • First i recomend you to make saves at every base you stop. Now you can get back to Dublin i think and start mission again cos that mission is quite buggy and again most imprtant thing is to not use auto save. Personally i repete that mission a few times before i complete it on my first run of CF campaign.

  • Let's assume that I know what I am doing when creating content.

The mission serves a purpose; that is why it exists. That purpose might not be obvious to everyone, but I usually do not create stuff and invest time into something without a good idea of what I want to achieve with it.

I also have the habit of testing the stuff that I create. This specific mission used to work in most of the done tests, but due to the random nature of FLs AI in combination with the random spawn points of the ships, it is nearly impossible to cover every possible outcome of the flight paths. I am aware that players had issues with that mission and if there was a way to snap my fingers to get it fixed, I would have done it by now.

Removing that mission btw. would be the direct path to causing potential bugs in all following missions.

The entire CF storyline is written by hand (there is no other way), line by line, +37.000 lines of code (cutscenes and special scripts not even included in that number). It's not a trivial thing to do, my time is limited and if you have not noticed yet, other mods do not even have a working storyline (because it is fricking difficult).

thanks. i still don't understand why the bugs are not fixed or just get rid of the mission. it serves no purpose and really takes the fun out of playing the game.

The mission is crucial for the overall narrative; the more challenging it is, the greater the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction we derive from overcoming it. While it’s true that there may be some bugs that detract from the experience, it's important to remember that the dedicated team behind this project poured their heart and soul into creating something special for us to enjoy. They faced numerous challenges themselves, and despite these hurdles, they delivered this experience completely free of charge. So, as you navigate through the story, I encourage you to try to overlook any minor bugs that may arise and focus instead on the rich narrative and the effort that went into crafting this unique journey. Embrace the adventure and let the story unfold.

  • thanks for the feedback. I totally get the complexity of writing code, and the dedication people put into this. I struggle to follow the smart engineers I have working for me when they're writing code in Python or bifrost! :) I shall persist and thoroughly jump for joy when I get through this mission. I love playing and want to get through so I can do some more "freelancing" exploring the worlds.
