Caught in the system.

    Hi, before Mission 9, I was in the Alaska system. It is now impossible to get from Alaska to Kyoto base and continue the storyline. Midpoint rift jumphole/X 3043 Gate are visible on the map, but in fact they have completely disappeared from the system. Only the Alaska-New York Gate is physically present, but I don't have access to it yet. So at the moment I have no way out of Alaska. I tried to restart the game several times, load different positions in the game, but without success.


    Does anyone know where the problem is?

    Edited 2 times, last by Kuby: Now I remember a similar problem I had before. After Mission 4, I explored the galaxy. I got into the Omicron Alpha / Beta system via Colorado / X 3043. If my progress in the game was not limited by the main mission, it was possible to use Gates / Jump holes without restrictions (I could fly the same route back to Colorado). Once I received the announcement, I should return to Juni in Manhattan and begin Mission 5 it was impossible to get anywhere from Omicron Alpha. Gates / Holes were both on the map and in the game. But I have always been denied access. Is it possible that there is some mechanism that causes this limitation associated only with the main story mission(maybe because in this particular case I don't have access outside the Liberty sector yet)? Has something similar happened to anyone? ().

    Hi, some systems like X-3043 should be accessible much later during story-line and therefore accesses are locked during active missions. But they still exist in times when is player between missions (this way is freelancer vanilla coded) and this result in problems. With lvl going up is campaign reactivated and it will close some of jumps etc. and player get stuck. I personally recommend to avoid travels into systems like Custodian or X-3043 (and adjacent) early. Is good to keep in mind that Crossfire mod adds tons of new things into old game engine and complete freedom when playing campaign (which have rich storyline) is relative.

    In any case, it is good to know that among the main story missions it is possible to use most Crossfire gates / Jumpholes, but not to sell items from wrecks / escapes pods in the Alaska system, for example.

    Sorry to bump this, but if you have pods to sell during the story, go to Shikoku, Manchester, or Texas (and Hamburg, if Rheinland isn't locked)

    I have made the same mistake once, and was stuck in there too. Avoid Alaska at all cost!

    If you really need a prison near X-3043, go to Vega, Neophobos or Enigma.
