Crossfire unable to launch

Hello !

I'm new around and i wanted to give a shot to Crossfire Freelancer after hearing so much about.

I downloaded the mod and used the Setup Launcher to install Crossfire 2.0 on a fresh copy of Freelancer (no modded prior, no saves). The installation went pretty smooth, but i'm now facing an issue.

When i reach this screen, i then press the "Single Player" button (working with the recommended DX version here, and i applied the patches).

It then says "preparing crossfire to launch" and....

Nothing.

The window just close, and nothing happens. Checking my task manager, nothing launched or changed. It just seems the game isn't able to launch.

Do you have any clue about this issue ?

Sadly, the only log appearing is :

"Preparing Crossfire to Start..."

It crashes a few seconds later without any more logs.

which shader option did you select?

did you check if there are incompatible savegames?

when you say Crossfire 2.0.... did you use the 2.0.1 installer?

Windows 10

DX10/DX11/DX12 (Recommended)

I purged my savegames prior

And yes, i used the 2.0.1 installer from ModDB

Maybe I can try to find the error source using teamspeak. Everything else just would be guessing.

I'll try to install Crossfire with the old method of FLMM, maybe it will work. I'll keep the feedback up with this method

No it will not work, that makes your game more corrupt. The installer will do the installation.

Well... I'm running out of options here... I'll proceed to a clean installation of Freelancer for now

New fresh installation, new try.

Updating the game give me this in the logs:

Okay, good news !

I finally managed it to make it work !

For some reasons, it wouldn't work on my C: drive, so i moved the game on the D: drive and now ?

Well it works !
