Is it possible to download the update files other than the launcher?

Decided to go back into Crossfire after 3 years and I've been trying to see how to get the updates past the 2.0 update in 2014 but it seems that they can only be downloaded through the launcher. Unfortunately for me it's taking an eternity and there's 1630 files!! Any way around this?

I'm specifically looking at SP as I doubt I am in a location suitable for MP. Future goals xD

That being said, is it possible to get a CODE1 crash when trying to run the game mid-update?

I managed to run the game before I started updating but now i get the CODE1 crash...

There are downloaded core files during this first update after is game installed. It contain all changes and improvements done to the mod after 2.0 release. Give it please a time and download these updates once .. after this you shoul be ok for play SP (there are daily updates, but they are not needed for SP and you can skip them). you can not run it until the updates are completely done

I mean pause the download to try to play... I was impatient xD

I managed to download the updates and the game runs great but when I quit and open the game again, my saves don't show up...
