  • Background story


    The various DK ships spreaded over Sirius are a danger to the free trading routes and the safety of the house systems. In a joined meeting the representatives of the various houses and representatives from the Corsairs and Outcasts agreed to invest time and money in developing new, high level weapons to counter the DK threat.
    To speed up the development scientists worked together in one big scientific lab somewhere in the California system.


    After a few months the scientists presented the fruits of their labor:

    Tizona al Sayyid

    Name: Buckshot II
    Description: This is a particle-based weapon which, though delivers significant damage at a decent fire rate, requires enormous amounts of energy. This weapon is most effective against graviton shields, and weakest against molecular shields.

    During the research and development, the GMG scientist developed also a new type of gun which can turn the whole balance back in their favor. Due to this forseen effect they did not share this information with their colleagues, but kept it hidden until they were back at their base. After the presentation, a representative of the Rheinland scientists left the room in anger, claiming that the GMG has stolen their information on plasma cannons.

  • The Skyblast C, would be the best suited for DK fighter engagements.

    We have a lot of good level 10 weapons but level 9 are too weak specialy against DK's.


    Why not develop level 9 weapons meating the specifications required to kill the fast moving DK fighters ? and maybe faster level 10 to better aimed the Aliens ?

    The values are the same as the normal lvl 9 guns, only i multiplied the damage values by 1.6 and the energy values by 1.5.


    The skywrecker a does a hell lot of damage, but if you look at the energy required and the refire rate, you cannot use it like you can with a ppc in combat.

  • I would be interested in Tizona al Sayyids and Skyblasts C they also seem not to be too over kill which is good.(I had some ideas too,the almighty hunter weapons.story in short:bounty hunters cant take on these stronger pirates so they in turn make new weps)if u guys r interested in them let me know

  • The only concern I would have is the unoriginallity of one of the names (I know, big dea :P). The pulse weapon line of the Corsairs contains the Rapier and Tizona del Cid. You need to find a new name for the next weapon. El Cid was a Spanish hero if I'm not mistaken (and tizona is sword), so I'm not sure how "al Sayyid" would be topping that in a Spanish-influenced weapon line...you'd need to go to a more grandiose level for a good name (don't ask me for suggestions though ^^). Otherwise the very idea of these new guns as terrific. I want a Drake D plasma cannon, but that would only be level nine I think (but still something I'd use :D). Very awesome, I hope it works out 8)


    @OP: Just out of curiosity, would adding weapons to the mod at all run the risk of a char wipe? I was under the impression that only big changes could require that. Maybe the next version sometime down the road will just be a massive update of tiny freatures like these that run little chance of having bugs.


    (btw, that Skywrecker is making me drool...give it a fiery gold or red effect plz plz plz. I want a slow-firing, energy guzzling super gun so I can intimidate noob opponents and practice my aim (it's a useless gun unless you hit with it)! I think I'll cry if this fails ;()

  • nm ^^ (btw, the rate of refire is too good on the Skywrecker. It ought to be .5 to compensate for the massive damage; also, this would allow the pilot to recharge their power a little longer between shots).

    i find the name quite suitable: he fought the arabic/muslim and they used this name
    if you want something more spanish style, el cid was also known as "campeador" (el cid campeador), that is an ancient and rather unusual spanish word that means "great warrior", so you can use "tizona del campeador"


    however, i have a better name for the gun: el cid has 2 swords, "tizona" and "colada" (they both had a interesting history btw)... so "colada del cid" would be a great name :D


    returning on topic :), i think these guns could be a nice addition for future versions of the mod. i like specially the backgroud: they fit nicely with the story behind the mod. good work m8 :)

  • I dont like the idea of those new guns. Current Codenames MKII will ebcome useless and any "idiot" will be able to fight good cause of the new guns :)

  • I use codename weps because they're eyecandy, not because I think they're better than other guns (Coalition Gattling is still a superweapon). Adding the new guns would help new players get good guns, and therefore put a demand on veterans to fight with skill to overcome their opponents rather than superior equipment :P.

  • Also, being that powerful would mean that those guns would probably only be sold in one place (and a well hidden/protected one too)


    Overall, I reckon those are some pretty sweet ideas :))


    pcforce: Codename MKII's would still be very much in use I think....(most of them are more energy efficient than the above suggested weps as well)

  • Don't worry, if the guns take too much power...we can always ask OP to produce a Weapon Power doubler to compensate...


    of course then we'd need Armor Triplers and Shield regen of 40%.

  • Just because an idea doesn't go over well with you doesn't mean that it's a bad one. The idea to having power-guzzling guns is that people wouldn't be able to shoot as long in PvP and an even broader range of weapons to chose from to fit their personal fighting style. With some of these porposed weapons you could only let off a few shots and then be forced to back off of your opponent until you have enough power to get back in the fight. It'd be good for encouraging strategy and unique fighting styles. No other upgrades would be needed as that would defeat the purpose to having the better guns... you've already said that you don't like level 10 guns and I respect that, but you don't like to exploit the full potential of your fighter and that veiw isn't shared by the rest of the majority.


    (Don't worry though, there's no chance of a new version coming out anytime soon, and these guns probably wouldn't be introduced to such an update -_-)
