Stop using v1.55

Im not sure and I dont want to be an spammer but you could

not play ver 1.55 when the server is on ver 1.54 or vice-verse. I dont want to speculate

either but to OP:
I have a fresh intallation yesterday for freelancer + ver 1.53(reviewed

one) + 1.55. After a while, I couldnt see the server (I have the only compatible server icon

on) so I checked so it was 1.54. Could be that people instead of deleted the 1.55 wacko

client on and then reinstall ver. 1.53 + update 1.54, they just applied the ver 1.54 update

on the 1.55 client cf on the fl manager. Now, the server recognise you as 1.54 and you could

even login but maybe files are corrupted cause you have the 1.55 when you repatch the 1.55

to 1.54.

Anyway, I wondering about that cause I did that yesterday and I login then I

realized...wooaaaww, I need a clean install of 1.53(reviewed) plus 1.54

patched.

Anyway....didnt mean to get into spamming stuff but from what I read in the

forum I havent see that

while I was reading the forum and then writing this I found that what I have just said has

been already disscuss 30 min ago.

SOultion m8, please everyone has a clean install

which means ver 1.53 (reviewed + 1.54 update) in the FL manager

I believe you can connect directly and not all people use the global list to connect.

Thus some people are connecting directly using 1.55.

& then of course passworded the server...

everyone has to download the right mod..

And also make in the server description that they must use 1.54...It says now 1.55!

they cant connect directly to the server with 1.55

if ppl just copied 1.54 over 1.55 and thought that would work .... well those ppl

have corrupted files which will result in a crash

OPEN FLMM
DEACTIVATE

CROSSFIRE
OPEN THE MOD FOLDER
DELETE THE CROSSFIRE 1.53 FOLDER
CLOSE FLMM
GET

CROSSFIRE 1.53 (download on LR or CF-Page)
INSTALL CF 1.53 INTO FLMM
CLOSE FLMM
GET

CROSSFIRE UPDATE 1.54 (download on LR or CF-Page)
INSTALL CF 1.54 UPDATE INTO

FLMM
ACTIVATE CROSSFIRE

tell this to all ppl you can see on the server or

messengers

it will take time to create new path files because i have to create a few

thousand new entries now (that could take some time)

we havent down loaded 1.55

only 1.53 and then 1.54
followed all the above instructions but we still crash the

server when we try to log on
any suggestions

I suggest updating the home page and server message with some form of warning referng

them to the forum for instructions how to go back.

did you delete all the

files in your freelancer folder?

ie: my documents----> games----->

freelancer.

delete that whole FL folder

delete every single CF file you

have, even if you have the .zip in another folder....start fresh with everything.

ok so what do you do if you havent yet downloaded the 1.55 mod reversion will you still

be able to get on the server?

as these people who are not reading the forums, are logging on and crashing the server.

we DIDNT down load 1.55
he was logged on (one of the first 4

when it restarted)
for 30 mins then i stopped him playing
when he tried to log on

after , then it started crashing

I've the same problem, I've removed completely FL and everything else reinstall

everythings twice and it doesn't work
So what to do now ?

Yes I did, but it doesn't work... So I'm removing

everythings and relaoding the original files ! And that take times !

the rest of you, but all this frenetic activity is not helping. Take the week off, go play

Open SP at home, and wait 'till OP gives the "all clear"! This is the best thing you can

do to help the situation... Meanwhile, go to the donation link and drop a few euros in to

encourage OP that he's not just busting his a** to appease a bunch of whiny wankers! Good

things are ALWAYS worth wating for...

So, here is what i done even though i'm not on the

Server:

I Downloaded the new Release of 1.53.

I Did a Copy and paste the 1.54

files on it and changed the mod to 1.54.

I did a copy and paste the 1.55 files over

the 1.54.

Now, will this work prperly?
