  • ive just started a SP game with this mod and iv just


    dont the mission to destroy the roge base and now iam doing missions but i cant kill ships


    as the sheilds and hull repair to quickly iam luky if i can even hit there hull iam useing a


    defender w/ justice MK3 and Lavablade Mk3s .could you shed any light on this, thx

    I've finished a mission, taken


    me about half an hour, and it takes a long time to kill a ship.
    It really takes the fun


    out of it. I was half through a mission then decided thats that and stopped the game.

  • crossfire was designed for those players that are bored with the


    normal FL


    those guys are experienced pilots and have no problem with killing npc




    in crossfire the npcs are very hard and a challenge even to good pilots

    you have problems to kill those ships ask experience pilots or ask them to train you

  • I too have started a


    single player game and got through the first missons only to find that i can't even kill a


    Bloodhound. i have been playing this game for a year now so i think i am a fairly good


    player. maybe i just need a bigger gun. (or 2, or 3)


    this is the first time i have


    tryed to use the multi-player for the game and i am having some issues in getting the global


    sever to connect. ( read an earlier thread about setting my firewall ports to 2300-3400).


    not sure how to do it right, so anyone that can help me i would greatly appreaciate


    it.


    I hope to join the MP games as soon as i can.

  • Killing the ships in


    the "Story Line" missions is okay. Like it that way.


    But once you have to make money


    by going on missions before the next "Story Line" mission is the problem. I have to fight a


    ship for at least ten-fifteen minutes before I kill it. It looks like they (ships) got a


    huge amount of nanobots and shield batteries. Also when they run out of sheild batteries and


    their shields go off line, when it comes on line again they have more than half of their


    shield back again


    That 's while playing in single player mode. I haven't tried the


    multiplayer mode yet.


    I do consider myself fairly good at the game. Been playing it,


    on and off, for over two years now.

    problem...Except for one thing. I HAVE hit the enemy's hull, after trying to deplete their


    shields for 5 minutes, and the game made a weird sound, recording no hull damage.

    it took long i was able to kill those npcs without getting much damage on my ship

  • The missions can be done, so far till the point i am, i am doing sp at


    a times, call me nostalgic.
    Some missions are a bit harder bcz the npcs, witch is good so


    they are not so easy, good fl and cf knowledge helps. Well i am doing story line, i want to


    see how far i can go with my dagger (got it just as i had the lvl for it).


    About "i


    am a good player", if meaning fighter, well compared to what, i dont think of my self as a


    good fighter, and i dont have any problem with those npcs but a bit more time to wipe them


    out (time can be critical in some missions, thought)


    EDIT: Yes OP it can be long if


    you are using "standard procedures" but, with the rhino there is money (cf trades), and


    full of best turrets and 3 javelins, those npcs dont last for that long, most dont have time


    to reload. After that, the dagger, adv stunpulse and other low rate high damage weap do the


    trick. Well, ill see if i go further.

    had the same problem myself. It is really annoying, at least at the beginning, when you are


    still flying a Starflyer and have no-good guns. I survived without much problems, but it


    took me about 10 to 15 minutes to take down those damn ships in the missions. Since then I


    only take missions where you only have to kill one guy :D (assassinations and the


    like...)


    I scanned the enemy ships in combat. They all have 100 Shield Batteries and


    100 Nanobots. Personally, I think this is a little unfair, considering that I can't


    take that much. To make it fairer, the enemy ships should only be allowed as much SBs and


    NBs as their ship can acctually take, then we would be on an even level.


    And, as I


    said, it really gets annoying to play it in a Starflyer. In MP you have at least more money


    and can buy a better ship and better weapons right at the beginning, but in SP, you have


    this damn Starflyer, shitty guns and not much money.


    As for my experience: I play


    Freelancer since two or three years, so I would consider myself a fairly good pilot. Altough


    personally I have a grudge against missiles, I don't no why. Somehow I just don't trust


    them and rather like to use my guns. Perhaps it is because I like to have my enemies always


    in front of me, I don't know. But that is just me...



    P.S.: In the description at


    the Lancer Reactors it was said that CF has Open SP. Didn't see much of that. What happened


    to it?


    P.P.S.: Oh yes, and there was a mentioning of two new stories. Are those only


    available in SP? And how does one star them?

    While I admire all that it takes to mod any program, I am having


    the same problems you are in SP. After a 12 hour work day, it really depresses me to


    discover that my crossfire 1.5 mod prevents me from making any headway against the 100/100


    nano/battery NPCs. I guess I'll have to wait until 1.52 or higher until the problem is


    corrected or at least an option is created to allow a more "realistic" ammount of NPC


    resources.



    If (or when) this occurs, could it be posted at Lancers Reactor ? I


    was looking forward to enjoying a whole new universe (or at least a bigger sector) and the


    failure (probably mine, not the mod programers) to being able to play SP crossfire 1.5


    really has me down!

  • if you had looked in other threads you


    would have seen that this nano and bot change was for multiplayers who thought the npcs were


    too easy. Also if you looked you would have seen that a new version patch (is it a patch?)


    of CF 1.5 is coming out in a few weeks that has the corrected codes for SP.

  • the CF1.51 code which is on my HDD already has readjusted bots/bats
    the NPCs


    use the max bots/bats which the ship can carry and not more (this means a starflyer will


    only have 10 and the titan can have upto 78 bots/bats)
