  • hello, i am new to the crossfire mod and have a quick question regarding the unoffical sequal to freelancer part. i noticed when i start the sp, its just the orignal campaign just with kick ass new updates. does the sequal come after i complete the game again on crossfire.

side note. is the sp meant to act like the mp. i noticed id cards. scanners. and even the server rules floating near manhatten. lol

  • Hi, welcome around, and yes our extended campaign is a continuation of the original vanilla campaign, so it's a double sized storyline, in 1 piece. Including Juni escorting you more, other fleet escorts, aliens, and such.

But be advised, once you start with Chapter 14, the first Crossfire one, due to an engine limitation, you won't have any "breaks" like in vanilla where you spend time making money, you can still do whatever you wish while you keep following the orders, or mission briefing, in the way it is said. Else, trying to trick the game, you will end up blocked as the next part of the mission will not appear as you didn't finish the previous one. Including the waypoints.

Hope you enjoy it, have fun !

  • Yep, just like Michael said, the new CF story comes right after the original one. To me it worked like that: after the last original mission, just fly where you want to go and get a new ship, weapons, shield and whatever else youmight need. Then follow the marked waypoints to the first crossfire mission.

To your second question: you can sure get yourself some ID, but you don't need it since there is no NPC who cares about it. I think it is just not possible to delete the "multiplayer Items" without getting two mods...one for SP and one for MP...but I don't know exactly.

But anyway, have fun playing, get ready to bite in your keyboard, for the new missions are really hard sometimes (25+ tries one some of them) and enjoy the community and the roleplay online.

  • Welcome iamburnj,

for new missions only few advices:

    - follow missions path precisely, there are mission triggers which if missed can lead to various troubles.
    - try use if possible mainly mission saves. They are only one which assure that mission triggers are 'reset' and this way all should work right.
