A new idea for event managers - "Capture the rum"

  • So,we all know what the whole thing is "capture the flag".For not going into too much detail (because I could write a lot of time about it),I will transfer my brainstorm to events managers.It can play just like playing usually this kind of game or organized according to the system requirements or the number of players or changed so that all pewpew or bumbum turn into something attractive that involves some strategy mixed with action in a relatively small space.My first idea was OP to create a lootable bottle of rum (or anything else )which can be captured by a team from another team and kept a certain period of time.That of course if OP finds it possible and worthwhile.This event can be developed in any direction you want, time or space, it all depends if you find attractive idea or not.It does not require too much complexity for the players or any of the EMS [ :bodycheck: ] or time consuming, and pewpew will not miss because this is the main attraction for any shooter game.And I think players can participate in this event with different ranks because it is a team game and involves strategic roles for each participant.
    Just think about it.....

    Sound a bit like this afghanian "pre-polo!-game, where the players had to capture the carcass of a shep
    and hold it for a time, while still being chased by the other players.

  • Capturable things can be:


    dock on base
    capture ship (train, liner, prison) ... unarmed BS
    lootable wreck
    ...


    This is imo best announce in advance (2-3 days) so ppl can arrange shedules.


    Prices: well, this imo need a discusion. My personal suggestion (because those ARE NOT official events, or can be purely rp) is offer payment especially for new ppl to attract their attention. ... more later :)

  • I think, Soul.Eater means kind of a cargo,
    that is indestructable and can be looted from another player => if killed this loot is set free to be tractored by other players
    (Hope I got you right on that, soul.)

  • Yes, I understand. But this mean 'coding' work and adding stuff = need time from ppl which work on CF 2.0. I suggest use Soul idea and apply it on existing stuff.

  • Than perhaps something like "smugglers hunt" or "assault" but only on system scale:


    2 Teams: each team has to "deliver" an unarmed BS, Transport or the like to the event manager


    1st leg:
    every team has to reach the station, where the ship is sold und one member has to buy, then fly it
    Who will be first ?
    Could give fights on the way to the station, around the station (prob maybe: observing dockrape rule)


    2nd leg:
    every team has to escort its "trophy" to the event manager or any specified location
    Who will be first ?
    Could give fights on the "convois". "Trophy"-ship destroyed => BAD LUCK :P Go back and get another one :D


    Winner's the team that "delivers" or that still HAS a "Trophy"-ship after a givin time

  • yes, something like this. But ppl usually do not play in the same time so "trophy" maybe is not the best working idea. But "organized" fights with idea(background) have wide possibilities. I actually have one nice idea and will post later today "event" for 5th Aug evening server time.

    2 teams, every team has a Event Manager assistant with it, for this I would need 2 helpers hehe...


    So 1 keeps a, let's say, bottle of rum, lost somewhere in space, then the first team that reaches him he drops to them the bottle (every team need to have that EM assistant just for taking the bottle, not fighting or being killed), that groups heads to a place to deliver the bottle, meanwhile the other group can try to stop them, and if they sucessfully kill all the players (except the EM assistant), he needs to drop the bottle to them...etc...

  • I like your idea too and any ideea is good but the trick is that you have to start from something simple.After playing that idea,in its simplest form and demonstrate playability we can increase the level of complexity.If we start from the beginning with a complex event is possible to fail because are many factors against a perfect event ...time zone...language..age...stupidity :patsch: ..too much IQ :wissenschaftler: ..and so on.At all events only a few players taking part and probably the same ,because others may wish to participate but the complexity of the event it exceeds.That's why propose something simple like a football game where everybody can pewpew and run with his ship in a small area and for a short period of time.I do not know .. but something that would appeal to all players regardless of rank would be a great achievement for the comunity.

  • As far as i know cargo fuses for freighter are activated. That means when you destroy a loaded freighter piloted by another player you get a certain %of their cargo as loot in space.


    My idea would be to have two Teams and two EMs stationed at two bases. Say New Berlin and Planet Hamburg.
    both teams need one freighter and fighter escorts.
    the EMs are stationed at each one of the bases and scan everyone coming in to dock.


    Now we need two commodities with equal cargo capacity (Diamonds & Niobium, Alien Organisms & Beryllium, ...) that are only sold on one of the bases.


    The teams will get points for each commodity their freighter can deliver (by docking) to the enemy base and also for what you can steal from your enemy and deliver back to your own base.


    How many points each action brings might have to be discussed. :)
