Mission 03 is impossible

  • From what I understand crossfire made the single player campaign harder, which is cool, but how hard is just right? As of now it seems like the outkasts are OP'ed in mission 03, even with the werewolf ship fully equipped I can not kill even one fighter before the lead transport blows up. Is there a trick to this?

    your problem is that you never before play mod as CF. You need adapt. NPCs on your level are really easy comparing with some really deadly NPCs later in campaign. You need better aim and ship movement. If you visit for example Oasis and take guns from wrecks there, then kill one NPC figter is possible with one full hit. Use guns with the same projectile speed and this also will help you. Practice and do not give up. What you think is today impossible will be tomorrow only hard and after week easy walk in park.

  • balancing of the first missions was done using a starflyer
    missions 4-13 were balanced by me using a defender

    I know what you mean. Also had this problem. When you activate mod, you need to choose classic freelancer cursor. Do not use new crossfire cursors, it's much more difficult to play with them! It is strange, but you will see a difference, try it.

    i use set 2 and new set 7 => perfect cursors

  • OK, Mission 3 is really not different then in the original game only diff is that the NPCs use nanos and gens which makes it more interesting.
    With a full loaded Werewolf there shouldn't be any prob with NPCs.
    I would have to agree with Martind Forlon : practice your aim :)
    Also you can come onto MP and practice with others is always a good.

  • I like the suggestion to swap the cursors, but is there any way to do this without deactivating and activating the mod, because my computer fights me on those actions and I'd like to avoid it if possible.
