error starting multiplayer e8 & e6

    WHAT is wrong? I've been trying to get CF 1.9 to work for hours, now that I got the CF_CL.dll problem out of the way it starts telling me


    that while starting SP the is an error starting MP e6 or e8 whichever way it feels.



    I have no idea on how to fix this having installed and re-installed it 3 times now (and the download is half an hour :thumbdown: )

    What OS are you using?


    Try seeing in your task manager if Freelancer.exe is still running, if it is end it and try again
    and if you are using windows vista/7 try setting the compatibility mode and/or run as administrator.

    welcome here. Please look at FAQ (In menu Informations). I suggest two things, first re-download mod and did clean install as described (do not forget instal cf in flmm folder!l. In case it not help you have option reinstal system which sound on first look terrible, but microsoft systems with time getting less and less usable (especially with many sw install uninstall). Also might I ask what antivirus you use? It is very unlikely, but check to be sure quarantine. After install clean Fl check or untick all files attribute "read only". And last but maybe most important: run all install thing as administrator. Is possible that some files are not copied or overwritten bcs this and result is corrupt install and not working CF.

    I have one more thing ... is your SP working? I ask this question bcs MP use different *.exe file and my firewal ask every time I switch from SP to MP if is this OK ... in case you have set your firewal to block all this things automaticaly it might do troubles.
