CF1.82 CF_CL.dll error HELP!!!!!!

  • Hi there, I really need some help.

I've tried installing 1.82 about a dozen times so far, after playing 1.8 (SP!) ever since it's release - what a great improvement toFreelancer!!

I did the 1.82 install exactly like instructed (like I said, I've been playing 1.8 for 9 months - so I managed before)

So far I downloaded FLMM1.31 and CF1.82 about 6 times to make sure I don't have any corrupt files. I tried to install in different order. Of course I deleted anything related to Freelancer, clean install every time, no firewall + AV etc.

So here's the Problem: After install, I go into FLMM1.31/mods/CF1.82/EXE and double-click the CF exe-Icon (worked before). The CF update-window pops open, and a couple of files are downloaded. When it's done I click SP - a 5sec. pause, the timer appears for a milisec (personal feeling - not timed, mind u!), and nothing else - When checking the task-manager: nothing!

So I tried the Freelancer(vanille)/CF/EXE folder, and click the CF-Exe Icon, and get the massage:

    Run time Error 53

    File not found CF_CL.dll

So I'm at a loss!! Anybody experienced this kind of Problem before, any Solutions??

And yes, I've searched the Forum, but couldn't find anything. If I missed a post or double posted, I am really sorry.

    So PLEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASE Help me!!

Never do that, there are only the CF files and not vanilla parts.
And the updates go to there instead of going to your instalation....

Well, CF_CL wasn't modified since jan 2000 as it tells (WTF ? ) but well, it's the same as the one you have in CF 1.8., and it's the same object in the mods/cf/exe place, so you could copy it and see if it works. BUT do NOT copy all the files it miss, mainly cus many of them get chagned with the activation, this us just an exception :P

Not sure why it happened, might be cus you started the wrong CF stuff (the one at mods is just teh CF package and nothing more), anyways SP and MP are separated now so if you wish SP you have to click the SP button in the launcher.

    Copying it hope it helps.

  • Thanx Michael for the quick reply!!

I saw you are online and hoped You would awnser.

I have also tried the other exe first ( Freelancer(vanilla)/CF/EXE) still the same problem!! And of course I chose SP - so unfortunately your clues wont help me - any other suggestions??

  • Your CF_CL.dll file is missing and you can't play the game. Tell me your e-mail in a PM or in here so I can send it to you. Once you get it , copy it into your EXE folder. ( You can try with my dll file located in the exe folder... as Michael's one didn't worked)

  • Mail has arrived - thanx again I1lian!

CF_CL copied, CF downloads a couple of updates, I click SP and again: nothing

I'll reinstall everything new, and try again...

P.S.: Download always stops after update 215!?!?

  • Then it looks like a broken download of the mod(as it might missing a few files within it and that's why it can't work).

Download the mod again from here http://www.swat-portal.com/php…ownloadDBData&dataID=1065 and try again.

Try using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall your mod(after you do this, the uninstall setup might ask you to restart your PC, => don't. After the uninstall you'll see that there are 3 options of which allows you to remove any remaining registry files, use Advanced Option. When you finish, restart your PC). And also uninstall your FLMM from it's folder, you'll see 2 uninstall exe files in there, use both of them, the 1st and then the second one, as they are placed in the exact order. And after that, use PC Tools Performance Kit to remove any remaining crap.

    Good Luck.

  • 1. install FL (clean installation)
    2. run the CFsetup file so it gets installed in flmm1.31
    3. run flmm1.31 and "ACTIVATE" the mod
    4. now launch the Freelancer.exe from that FL installation (point 1)
    thats it

never ever run a mod from inside the flmm directory!!!

  • yap, OP's right, the same as I said ^^

even you had the CF_CL at the mods folder where you told you opened the game, you could have copied it from there as I told too :P no need to wait for somebody else to send it...

anyways good luck with it mate.....

    hope it'll work.
