  • first of all (and u know youve heard it loadz before!) thank you the the crossfire team for extending the possibilities of a game that failed to reach its potential. You have squeezed every last drop of enjoyment in that source code and i bow to you for it..

anyway.. made my way to the inner core. impressed by the level of skill needed to even survive long, its as challenging as parts of the vanilla should have been. my problem is time.. i work 72 hours a week. theres no point in me joining MP, its taken me 4 months to get 2 inner core (im not a noob, just pressed 4 time!).

after arriving i am now puzzled, i hve tried a bit of exploring, but to be honest, with the fights involved, theres no way i can see myself finding a (even slightly) quicker way through.

Thats where i need (to be honest) a spoiler.. either by pm or reply. i would really appreciate it as i am afraid of getting bored with trying, it would be such a waste of a great revival to a classic game.

My first post by the way, so hello everybody :) names john and from UK. Hope all is well

    peace

P.S i searched before posting to no avail. if i was just being stupid then i apologize

  • There are some destroyed alien trade lanes which show the direction of some organic gates, until you arrive at teh DK safe zone(safe if you're friendly with Dom Kavash from following the storyline, else you die while docking their entrance system, by their defence cannons) , in there you have functional trade lanes to follow like in normal systems... just that the stations are.... organic ^^

Even sicne you enter from Inner Core to the first alien system, you see in front of you (after yo uexit the asteroid field) some dots on the screen, which are the first destroyed trade lanes... to the right of them you find an alien hostile(invader) station and further, a gate, to the left of that lane, a gate.

And Welcome to Swat portal mate ^^ Here you can find a lot of information abotu everything related... even some spoilers.

As you say, you had to develop good combat skills just to get to the Inner Core.

Once in the Inner Core, the aliens are so tough that your first job is to find a safe base to dock. THEN go back and explore with the knowledge that you have a safe haven to return to when you need repairs.

That means that you need to perfect another skill... evasion. As a solo pilot, there is no other choice.

The safe zone that Michael describes is about four systems in (if you take the most direct path):

Sector level maps are at: http://silverarrows.forumclan.…-sector-maps-t100.htm#262

Michael's advice to follow visual cues should be sufficient, especially if you use the map. If you need further help, just let us know.

  • Yep, showing people to stand by themselves in all situations, is better than giving a hint for a route or two ^^

Fist evasion skills... then combat ones... and collecting their guns :)

  • Welcome John to the Swat and to the madness that is CrossFire...

I remember my first time in the IC...sheer adrenaline rush... :bscared:

The most important thing to remember is to survive...these hostile aliens crave fresh pilot meat...believe me!!

Check the forum for any reference to the Inner Core and you'll get some scraps of advice, or just ask a direct question.

P.S. Your skill in evading is essential...make sure your beer is full and good luck m8...

  • Hopefully a beer alcohol free.... else the best avoiding procedure would be collisdng with the alien ship xD

  • Oh boy... Venn exactly to the right of the black hole, then you'll see in front some destroyed trade lanes.... and so on the next systems, folow one or both of the directions they have :D Use your mind and spirit !!

  • Random...you're only goal is to make it to Weth (safe haven)...

It took me the first time a very long frustrating chunk of time, but you realize going thru the Inner Core that this is why CF is not just any mod.

Techniques on evading these hostile aliens is of upmost priority, and in itself requires a pilot with good skill.

Use Weth as your base of operations, then go back into Ryssk to try your luck . Good luck :bouch:
