graphic problems on Inner Core systems

    me and Eclipsya have been experiencing problems while flying trough the Inner Core systems, mostly because of that yellow dusty cloud which is everywhere. basically the laptop graphic cards can't handle it (my laptop already fried and I won't be ablt to play games on it anymore).


    should we reinstall Crossfire with low old graphic card settings? is that there isn't any way of just remove it.

    also wondering if there is anyone else with the same problems, after all we are not speaing about low end mobile graphic cards, we are speaking about 8600M GS and 9300M GS

    I'm running a old Sapphire 3850HD AGP card (512mb DDR3) and it's not affecting it thankfully... It's a little less FPS while encountering the "dusty space" of the Inner Core sector, but I believe it's nothing like what you and Eclipsya are experiencing from your description Argos.


    IMHO, since OP has upped the detail, graphics and what is actually capable with the Freelancer engine, those people who's graphics cards and computer setup that ran vanilla Freelancer well are discovering that Crossfire 1.8 is pushing the abilities of those setups well below acceptable framerates.


    So my suggestion is to try to lower some of the graphics options under F1 to try to recover some framerate to an acceptable level of play. Otherwise, as you have stated Argos, a reinstall is in order to lower Crossfire's graphics options.

    When you enter an Inner Core system, before you do it you can lower the performances. That will surely take out any problem there for any high or low end PC.

    all the settings in freelancer are already at the lowest possible level, some because I like, others because I feel the need to.


    @ Hellraiser, by my experience you should get a cooling pad.

    i don't have a laptop(well i used to but it died for science).
    I dont use the Desktop im talking about for gaming(funny, because i made it for HARDCORE GAMING but im using it for space simulations like galactic cannibalism and the likes.but will start using as soon a s my experiment is over.). I use a low end one which has an igp instead of a gpu.

    good for you, my 8600 wasn't so bad, but Eclipsya 9300 just can't handle it, you can explore (if you are more concentrated on the map), but no way you can fight.

    @the low end pc part: FAIL - you can't hit shit with such bad fps like low end pcs have in Galactic Core

    Sorry m8 should have made it abit more clear ...
    no problems with desk top .. and no problems with laptop when i did grid searches of all inner core systems for op , but that was just flying up and down the grid lines .. not fighting ncp's .

    Ohhh and btw Argos, IMHO it's time to hit up your on-board graphics card manufacturer's forums for some answers, although odds are not good in this situation in you finding a solution. ?(

    The card of the PC I'm nearly always using, has an Asus Ati Radeon A9250... but it has 128 MB DDR (ddr 1 )... and it works great for hours, with a low CPU too.


    But well, the manually added directioned cooler is making it's job really good xD
