Crossfire 1.8 low-end PC settings ;)

    For all PC geezers around


    Finally i made it, smoooooth as silk 8)...awesome


    how?


    1) New, nice, fresh copy of ur operating system (XP in my case)*
    1a) Install up-to-date Drivers for your Hardware
    1b) Switch OFF all background progs around (yes your AV too)
    2) Download CF 1.8 (try to do this in "peace")
    3) Freelancer installation
    4) Freelancer mod manager installation-FLMM 1.31
    5) CF 1.8 installation
    6) CF 1.8 activation via FLMM 1.31**(before activation take a look at "IN-MOD setup option"

    IN-MOD setup option**


    1) In general:
    Deactivate all or disable all (depends of description), except this one:ACTIVATE option for AGP with 128mb memory or lower.
    Double check all this settings^^


    2) Choose 1.8 beta server...use NEW or existing ID
    3) Create new character and enter in game.
    4) Deactivate 3D sound option
    5) Lower Performance settings (in my case: + - 80%)


    Enjoy and do not complain too much, this is still BETA

    If I put the Crossfire folder on a stick and bring it to school (Pentium 4 of 2 GHz, 512 MB of RAM, unknown GPU :| ) will it work? Even on lowest settings?


    I saw with CCleaner that the GPU is : Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller. ROFL?! :)

    that is a very good solution if you do not care for picking up all sorts of s**t while playing... trojan horses, heurs, etc. ... otherwise a very good solution :P

    If you only play the game, nothing will connect to you to send you a trojan or viruses lol, you can only get those if you're conected to a site, or internet.

    We have 5 informatics hours per week. Two monday, one after another; one thursday and two friday (separated by an other class hour). That's not the problem, since we haven't work a thing in the last 2 weeks (nor C++ nor Microsoft OFfice). So, they're free-time :D and I'm bored of browsing the web in search for that DosBox for my freaking Moto Z8 lol.


    Tell me ! WILL IT WORK? :)

    you are so wrong, man... i picked up the nastiest one I ever got while I only had CF 1.7 running about 2years ago... the game just suddenly starts lagging like crazy and after that your AV crashes you to desktop with virus report

    I have PC even crappier than bond's and it works somehow on the lowest graphics and performance (and it lags all the time)

    Yes, old freelancer works on most PCs 10 years ago... so, if you put performances to minimum, and when actiating the mod yu take out shaders, render, and some other buggy features, it works like silk :D
