  • After thinking a little bit longer i realize it's unfair to say that TDM is temporarily cancelled due to my lack of motivation.


    I don't think i'll ever be motivated enough to take up my job as EM again.


    Therefore, if somebody wants to take the job, give me a call so i can transfer the cash and other goodies. Depending on what happens on the server, you'll have to hurry, though.

  • Hmm, it's an interesting thing, I may have the time... the experience and the friendly enough status for it... even I'm not sure if there would be participants.


    Maybe some things could get added/changed to the TDM by the EM ? to make it more, intersting haveitng the same fun and more prize, heh

    And well, while it's just adding some things to it to make it more interesting... because, even if something is very good and funny... after years it gets less funny for most... even not for all :)


    Is there a thread where I can find all the, rules and info about TDM ? Or it still has to appear heh :)

  • I dunno about a thread with the rules, i think there is one but i didn't find it. But basically the rules are pretty simple:


    - 2 Teams fight each other during a given time (usually about 45 min but that's up to you)
    - If a player gets killed he returns to the fight asap
    - The team with the most frags wins, or in case both teams have the same number of frags the winning team is that with the better kill/death ratio. When it was a close shave i usually calculated the selfkills and took ten frags of the team with more selfkills.
    - No mines, no batteries, no nanobots
    - No cap ships


    That about sums it up.


    And to set the record straight: TDM was pretty popular all the time, but especially so recently. The last few times more or less the whole server population which knew how to fire their guns took part.


    So i neither think that i've done a very bad job nor do i reckon that a lot of adjustments need to be made.


    But then again, maybe they all just showed up to see me on my weekly PMS. Yay!!! finally back to a more natural cycle.

  • Ehh u were doing grate Lucy, the TDM is my favourite event. At least don't forget to participate when Mich hosts it. It's now time for you to have some fun without thinking of frags and counting too :)

  • Hmm, I just got some ideas heh
    The total event would be from 40+ minuts until 60... and may be in two parts:
    1:
    Normal TDM, anyone can join, and then choose teams, I might make an intervention if I see teams not equilibrated by, too many good players on a side and too many newer ones on the other heh.
    Duration 40 mins(if there are many participants and they agree 50 mins)


    And two posibilityes I thought about the second added part: (maybe I can let participants choose, if you(anyone) thinks both are interesting, also would matter the number of participants)


    2 Version 1: After the first part of the TDM is over, the team's score will be told, and if there is a difference of 10 kills or less, each team can choose their representant (recommended the one that made more kills) and each representant(chosen as the best in group) will have a fight of 1 vs 1 like PvP, time limit 5 minutes(if none of both died, the one with more armor wins, but he will loose 1 kill from those 5) the winner gives 5 kills to his group. The team can change representant or keep andmake another fight 1 vs 1, and the winner may add 5 more kills :D The higher total number of kills wins, sure.



    2 Version 2: After the first part of the TDM is over, the team's score will be told, and if there is a difference of 10 kills or less, each team can choose 2 players as their representant (recommended the ones that made more kills) and thoy(chosen as the best in group) will have a fight of 2 vs 2 like PvP, time limit 10 minutes, if there is one or two survivors from same group, he/they will add 10 kills to his group, if in 10 minuts more than 2 had survived, depending on the ons with most armor will win, but will loose 2 kills for each of the opposite group representant survivor.


    Note: This second part is interesting even for when there are few participants... but if there are too few the winnings would be of 2 and 5 instead of 5 and 10, with or without kill loose(when there are representant survivors from the opponent team of the one that won).



    Do you think the second part is too complicatd ? or not enough interesting... actually it would be TDM and the destiny of the groups will get in 1 or 2 hands/players... would be quite emotionated. The prize Nr 1 would be 100 mill, 2nd 50 3rd 25 and the rest of the winner group 10 mill (maybe should add that, the one with less kills from his group would get nothing lol :D for more competitive tryes :D ).


    Edit: yep, as calculated, part 1 takes 40 mins(if there are many players it can be 50 mins), part 2(any of both version) takes 10. So the event is 50-60 mins. :)

  • Michael, how about a Starflier TDM? Doesn't have to be held in Arena... but for example in Texas/California... near the police planets where no npc will disturb us... new chars... even players with lvl 18 who just started can play and WIN the event... it's awesome... let's give it a try next week, shall we? so, you buy the best equipment you can mount on a Starflier (lvl 3 i think)- guns/missiles and let's rock the server! I am sure this idea would get a major support.

  • lol, interesting thing... but that may be another separated event ?
    Hmm... could one EM to manage 2 events ? heh I would put that starflyer one on sunday or saturday as I think more people is online...(if it's allowed ? ) :D

  • Not the TDM i like anymore. After all it's called a TEAM Death Match for a reason. Same reason i paid the same amount to every teammember, regardless of his/her frags.
    I also thinnk people should take part in a TDM (or any other event) because it's cool to take part, not because they're bribed into it with huge prizes.


    Just my 2 cts.

  • The prizes is not the thing... the thing is if it's exciting or not a fight of 1 or 2 representants from each group...for 5 minutes... after the all life TDM, where the rest of the groups can also place bets if they want :D , but all groups gets a prize.


    Anyway, if some/more says it's not more exciting, ok :)
