No Tags?

    Does anyone else have the problem of nothing having tags (names) showing up on their HUD or map? I have played this mod frequently in the past (SP only) but this is the first time ever on a 64-bit OS, is there something special I have to do to get the tags working for 64-bit or does CF just not work as great as on 32-bit? Sorry if this question has already been answered but 1107 threads is alot to search through....

    something is busted then. on x64 CF runs just as fine as on x86. I can only suggest reinstalling ;)


    Do you not see the texts at all, or do you see "IDS?"?

    I saw "IDS?" for the custom equipment, but nothing for the map or the hud display. But everything seems to be working fine now, I have no idea what changed from yesterday to today.

    if your tags are not showing, then run the launcher again. It's usually a sign of incomplete file updates.

    Yup, that must be it. Seems like every other time I start the launcher I lose the tags.

    i meanwhile doubt that its an update error which causes it
    since i switched to windows 7 i also experienced this error (in the beginning - now everything is fine) and since my version of CF1.8 does not get any updates yet it is not possible that this is the reason for that bug


    It might be possible that one of the dlls is corrupted... i have to check that
    if its the case then its MUCH work to create a new one

    that can happen but in my case it didnt happen as i work with the development version of CF which is not protected

    does some dll simply do not load?

    but the one did seem to have a prob with the version info (it did not show even in reshacker)
    now i included a new version info... (which is the same as the original)
    suddenly the dll is 4kb smaller... dunno
    but its still working


    i better keep testing and dont delete my backup of the original file
