Those new Windows are a bit weird, especually Windows Vista, only his design is nice.. , and Windows 7 is probably the same as Vista(by design, or combination from both by design as I've heard),... and nope,, I am still with XP Pro.^^
And,, Spiky is using Windows 7^^

if you have vista and 2 partitions on your harddisc are the install/reinstall windows 7 np, its nice
install windows 7 on the 2rd partition and you have an dualboot system (you can switch by restart comp)but with xp gives 2 props (same like XP/vista dualboot system)
windows 7 (and vista) install an dualboot manager on xp
you cant delete this without tool
windows 7 (and vista) delete the last XP autorecovery point by every reboot
thats np if dont need the point heheyou can install windows 7 alone but better you look first the compatible with your comp
install Sun xVM Virtual Box on your XP
then install windows 7 on the boxif all interoperable you can install windows 7 without props
(dual or alone, no risk no fun)
good luck and have fun

ive win 7 running
the visual effects are not as annoying as on vista, the performance is much better than on vista, there are some cool new features and improvementspro: it is directx10 compatible but without wasting the resources like vista
the design is looking pretty cool and has less limitations like on vistacons: there are some issues with older software (crysis has sound probs when you have a onboard sound card, Fraps does not work like it should, I dont see the FL intro movie -> black screen with sound only)
the design bother a bit if you use your system as working platform due to all the animations (but you still could turn them off)Win7 is a positive surprise but its not perfect

Well have now installed Win7 Ultimate RC on to my HP laptop (low power Sempron inside) and have it up and running. I agree with you OP it is a lot less frustating than vista ever was, with smooth screens and more power returned back to computer where Vista sucked it all up.
I have now been able to install a few of my old XP programs back onto it without any real problems, with the exception of 1. my built in webcam (will scout for possible working drivers later) and 2. Call of Duty2 will not even make it on to install screen!!! even though CoD and CoD-UO went straight through without and issues. But overall, i am impressed with it as a whole and maybe, just maybe, MS have finally made up for the fuck-up that was Vista, that itself was the biggest cock up since Win2000 was released

Windows vista is extrememly lite on resources if you know what you are doing and know how to use it ... my exp with Win 7 hasn't been good... many series of crashes during game play especially whan playing games like Arma and Arma 2 which is to be expected i suppose for a RC release ... Win 7 is exactly like Vista with very little visual differences with a few added functions and to be totally honest i see very little difference in the resources used between Win 7 and Vista SP2 when its set up correctly.
I have no doubt that Win 7 will be the better of the 2 OS once SP1 or 2 is released but then what OS ever came out that was perfect on first release.
