OR go into your options, then video via F1 and turn down your effects to 50%. Adv. Debilitators are fine once you turn down the effects, apparently there is still a bug in the Adv. Debilitator's projectile video effects that causes CTDs. (I do hope you are reading and eventually address this OP, I did read the other thread about this)

Sorry but youll need to unmount them. Others will also be affected by the exploding npcs. You would cause people to crash.

Negatory, a workaround is available, instead, try getting the word out and directing others to this thread and the other thread related to this phenomenon is my humble suggestion.

So far, the workaround does the trick for me with no visible depreciation in graphics in Freelancer. Loosing a very useful weapon to not inconvience others(esepically in light of the rarity of them coming in personal or nearby contact with the adv. debilitor blasts) seems pretty lame, especially when a workaround is available and it works.(been using it for months now, even have a ship using them currently with zero crashes, I repeat, ZERO crashes) Instead, I recommend putting a sticky up notifying others about it in this forum who happen to stumble upon this bug in Crossfire. Hit F1, go into your "Options", then "Performance" and turn down ONLY the "EFFECTS DETAIL" slider to 50%, DO NOT USE THE "GLOBAL" EFFECTS SLIDER at the top that affects all the sliders at once. Leave the rest of the sliders at 100% so as there is no visible decrease in game detail. Ok the changes and exit out.

Question to OP, would i get kicked by the server if id use a modified weapons.ini? propably eh?

About your workaround. I found out the same some months ago. And forgot about it. Lets see if we can convince some people to do that, debs will be remounted tomorrow.
