For anybody that did not know.... i successfully run CF1.7 on Windows 7 beta (Build 7000), so I fully expect CF to run on the Windows 7 when it is released.
Kind regards
Ben

Yep CF works better on 7 than on Vista
everything works worse with vista for some reason.
I also tried CF 1.7 on Seven. It runs even faster and smoother. It doesn't freezes at some intervals (due to my occupied RAM or my overheated GPU). Anyway, Windows Seven is the best. Remember, it has DX11 . That's all that matters
.
By the way, when will we be able to try CF 1.8 on Seven?
vista make too much problems
more experiences with windows 7 and running CF?
[checks] Still running fine, still asking for UAC permission to update files.
Proud Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) tester :]
Then turn off UAC:P
I play CF 1.7 on Win 7 also. It works great! Win 7 also plays all my other games a lot better then XP or Vista.

Hell no
Freelancer Crossfire 1.7 works perfectly on Windows 7 build 7057. It also runs smoother (it was smooth enough before too ). But now, it loads faster (1 second maybe
).
Now, with build 7100, it is perfect .
Still, I'm having problems with Unreal Tournament 3. It freezes alot (up to 5 seconds freeze), but I guess that's because Windows updated my NVIDIA driver to WDDM 1.0 and now I get a message "Unreal Tournament 3 has known compatibility issues with this driver...". Damn . I hope these issues will be fixed after I upgrade to NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
.
hmmm i should get win7 somewhere then

What is your GPU? I updated nVidia's drivers for my 9600GT (updated beta drivers (185.81) for Win7 -- LINK) and now UT3 runs flawlessly
@OP -- hit the torrents. The RC (build 7100) is already there The one I'm using is flawless (especially for pre-release software).
Besides, the best thing running Win7 beta/rc -- you get legally free OS for a year
Or you could wait till tomorrow for the RC to be publicly released on the windows 7 website and download it there, you can also get a free product key from there.
cannot use torrents coz where i live it gets pretty well observed
Torrents take longer anyways, just download it legally from the Windows 7 website, put it on a DVD, install it, and activate it with the product key they give you before you start the download process.
is there a link?
Yeah http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/ of you click the customer preview program tomorrow afternoon it will let you download the RC, and give you a product key that will last until the middle of 2010
probably not, because the servers are going to fail [again].
in april 30th the RC was made available to *select* people - MSDN/TechNet subscribers and MS partners. Still the servers failed due to a database error.
Now, the servers failed under the load of about 10k downloads (hard guess, but you get the idea).
Now, imagine what will happen when millions of eager people will try to download the RC?
P.S.: RC is really cool, but not much changes from beta. SOBs just don't listen when 10s of ppl tell them to implement that thing that one guy with the weird avatar suggested
