Ryder has posted this in the German section and pleased someone to translate it. I tried my best to give the English readers also the information that are necessary for running Crossfire from a USB stick.
QuoteDisplay Morenormally my tips are free of any charge, but this time you would need a relatively fast USB stick - after the whole did not worked with one of my old sticks (a age-old two GB one) I have decided to buy the test winner (thank goodness also test winner in the price achievement lol)
Its the Verbatim Retractable Blue 8GB for 14 euros. With that my ping values were below 60 0 0, also in PVP i did not jump all over, therefore it turn out to work proper.
However a relatively new 4 GB stick should be enough.
First format the stick and then install the mojopac on it, see http://www.mojopac.com/download.html
that is virtual environment of a XP OS for a USB stick (will probably only work if you XP installed, later on it should also start on Vista, but first the time the stick steals itself "his" XP from your XP - my assumption). If you permitted to boot from USB this is working after the installation as well (thus its kinda for safety purposes^^)
So now lets make that thing a bit faster

For the stick - first go to the settings in the context menu go to the register tab hardware. Select settings, and activate under guidelines - optimize speed ATTENTION: NOW REMOVE YOUR STICK IN SAFETY!!! Not just rip it off of your PC.
Before the installation of games you have to release the usage of the drivers!!! in mojopac under Settings, Driver support release the access to the drivers!
Freelancer should be installed in the end after you've put all on the stick which needs to be on it : idea:
Who possesses several sticks or has got a small old one, for this it is the best to use only this one for CF!
I have got a 16 one with lupo suite and portable apps nearly completely on it
Note: Who has got the Lupo Suite, Ccleaner comes with it automatically - however reading, writing and changing at the same time from the stick needs eternally much time (Lupo Suite are only 300 mega bytes. The Suite is very good but due to its site there is no Open Office included).
You can start then Apps/ Luop either from Mojopac (can be linked) or used from the stick via Windows.
Additional to the Mojopac installation is Ccleaner (finds over 500 in my Mojopac installation), clear, its less than half the size the original XP^^
Recuva (data rescue) is missing - Mojopac immediately deletes (so you will always have an empty recycle bin) and the windows defrag (the only defrag which does its job well) all three progs are coming from Piriform (nice software developer) http://www.piriform.com
Who has Apps/Lupo on the stick can then also start jkdefrag from Mojopac. However this does not defrag the current system, both is is useful to do both steps.
Who likes (possesses) Nero - I recommend Nero Lite or Nero Micro as minimum version for the Mojopac http://www.netzwelt.de/news/74…he-schlanker-brennen.html. Is also as Nero 8 available.
Now you can proceeded to install Freelancer > FLMM > CF1.7 > CF 1.7a > then activate the mod > start > and finished
I prefer to restart between those procedures (this time simply switch the Mojopac on and off)
Now you naturally get a new ID, in order to get your old ID you can type it in or install FLAM (Freelancer account manager). With this you can import your old IDs (5, 10, 50 lol) very fast.
But be warned, you should spend some time for doing all this. I needed over 4 hours. However with some programs (40 in the Apps, 200 in the Lupo and 10 in Mojopac) and thereafter 2 times defrag. Putting only the Mojopac and Freelancer on the stick is naturally clearly faster.
Support or Assistance can be found here (universal or used on the stick) http://www.swat-portal.com/portal/download/CFguide.swf
Then i only need to wish you much fun with Crossfire on the USB stick
PS: Ryder the translation would be much easier if your German would be more clearly
