CF1.8 development process

    Hum, I'm a newb and I recognize I don't have the right to come here and, well, give advices but uh, here we go anyway: many games/mods/movies/books are ruined because of the hype, the fans have great expectations for something that isn't even close to being finished and that may be a problem for the developers sometimes... my solution to problems like that is simple: don't tell them you are working on a new version/project or don't give them any details. Just... keep it secret until you are finished...


    Yes, that is an unusual suggestion, but I believe it is the best way to prevent such things from happening. Of course it's useless to try it now that everybody knows and anticipates 1.8, but at least it might be useful for future updates or projects.

    OP and others, I know it's my fault for what OP did (stoped to work on CF) - most of it. And I must say that I'm really sorry :( . I just made more enemies, got kicked from DC and etc. etc...


    OP, I can't help you to complete the mod (yeha, I know you don't want any feedback on this), BUT, I could give you some ideas... But I don't think it's the proper time to do this, now when you just want to finish it. Though, if you want to see my ideas, I'll tell you on PM...


    You should make a "call to duty" on the forum and call everyone back to CF ! It seems that they're all just waiting for 1.8, and left 1.7 behind !

    Best thing that we all can to do, is playing 1.7 Remember, THIS mod a great hard Op`s work for us. Ppl, who`re "waiting for better world" like children, who waiting for new dolly, breaking previous for it`s bored view. Some ppl waited a few years ago for 1.7 like we are for 1.8 now, but- empty server gives to creator no motivation for next steps in history of this amazing, awesome and the best mod.

    The people from Discovery mod (4.84) are still there ! The server is full everytime ! I barely can get a slot ! That's why I left it away... The 4.85 release date has been announced but the 4.84 server is still full ! That's what I want on CF ! PEOPLE, COME BACK ! :D

    Also it's a good idea to butt OUT of OP's stuff cause I've seen lots of things go down because of the people demanding and demanding. *Example* Star Wars KotOR 2 was not even close to being finished but the people screamed like a little girly who's about to get her head chopped off, and Obsidian got screwed and release it too soon thus ruining it a lot.

    ich wäre ja öfter online... aber ich hab die erfahrung gemacht dass CF1.8 leider inkompatibel mit der CF1.7 server ist und ständiges hin und her kopieren geht mir schlicht und einfach aufn sack
    zudem denke ich mal ist ne auszeit garnicht so verkehrt (nach fast 9 jahren lancer community)

    german is pretty simple, if you got the secret of the german grammar, and the articles .. lol
