    i have downloaded recently Crossfire 1,7 and i got of that exe [3]

    Help! New here and have been following the step by step instructions to install CF 1.7. I am running into the following at Step 8: Error: problem activating 'Crossfire Mod 1.70 Client Edition'
    Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire1.70\Kraken Readme.txt' to 'C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire1.70\Kraken Readme.txt')


    I have redone everything twice now with the same problme, what am I missing?

    well - before you try to activate CF via FLMM make sure the read-only-flag is removed from all files and directories in your FL directory. Sometimes ShCopy fails cause it cannot replace existing files.


    If this not works try a new installation and care about the read-only flag. Normally you issue should be solvable without big problems...

    Ok, that is not working. I did find the CF mod and patch were blocked but I unblocked them and that didn't make a difference. I cleared the read only flags and it appeared they were cleared but when I went back in to check the flags were back. There is something I am mising.

    After spending a week trying to get the FLMM 1.5beta version to load CF, I gave up and went back to 1.31. I followed the CF Guide procedure exactly, and it worked perfectly on the first try! I have had problems with this procedure in the past, but there was usually something I missed, like shutting down all AV & anti-spyware first, having a defragged drive to start from, etc. I finally quit messing with the default installation paths on CF & the 1.7a patch, and they work just fine without me... :rolleyes:

    My rig: i3-4130 Core Duo (3.4Ghz), Gigabit GA-B85-HD3 mobo, 8Gb PC1600ram, Samsung 2x 80Gb SATA RAID, Intel Integrated graphics, 3 optical drives, 23" Asus HD monitor + peripherals

    Third time was a charm! I dumped everything again, then ran a sweeper looking for anything FL and found a folder and file in docs and dumped that as well. then started over following the instructions and all is well. I am up and running, starting over. I am really impressed with the improvements made to the color schemes , sound and clarity of picture. Fantastic! Being an old guy I'm not the best fighter jock but hey, I'm having fun. Staying SP for now, I'll just spend my time dying if I try MP.

    I have some problems installing crossfire and I dont have any idea what i´m doing wrong =(


    I have installed freelancer clean, then I installed flmm 1.3 and deleted every other mod in flmm. Later on I installed cfsetup17 as administrator and when the installation is done I can see crossfire mod client 1.7 in flmm checked green. When i start freelancer, freelancer version 1.0 starts, no mod no nothing.... :( =/


    What am I doing wrong? Something to do with Vista Home Premium or Firewalls settings? etc?

    when you start freelancer.exe the first you should see is the crossfire launcher. This tool updates some of your files so you are up to date with the server files. This step is mandatory and absolutely necessary.


    And then please make sure you start the game also as admin (right click, run as...). And yes it can have something to do with firewalls, anti virus software....
