When did you last play CF?
It may be necessary to do a complete reinstall ,details are here somewhere. -
He didnt play CF long time ago I saw Hippo earlier this week, or previous week
[E5]? Explain more...
or just do this:
A) Copy MP ID
B) Reinstall FL
C) Reinstall FLMM
D) Reinstall CF1.7 from install
E) Use your MP ID and try to play -
you must uninstall correctly first
Get MPID and make a note of it
FLMM deactivate CF,restore backups
Uninstall Freelancer and saves ect in my docs/my games folder
Uninstall FLMM
reboot pc then do as Wolviekins says -

Problem starting Multiplayer ... [E5] --> corrupt installation (or no right to write into freelancer path)
and*moved to appropriate section*

Yeah, i was about to do that but it's strange that i haven't changed anything on my FL and get that.

here be my 2 cents ... no make that 3
1st: the guide is outdated
2nd: the links ... they are not links. how the hell is a guy supposed to follow one of the links, if it's not linked? write it in address bar manually? yeah, right -- try to write the download link for VisualBasic6 [try by yourself in chapter "Crossfire launcher"]
3rd: just like the 2nd, but the text that's meant to be inputted somewhere, should be made selectable [take the registry patching command line for example], or better yet, made into a button that launches the command on ur computer. -
Well I am sure those nice suggestions will be looked at when 1.8 is finished and people have some free time!
its updated enough to help most probs -
