ok ill use this thread to announce the forum changes that have been done...
- there is a small warning when you reply to one of your own posts
that should help to avoid thousands of doubleposts from new members- the old gallery (on the top of the forum) has been replaced with userpages
they contain a gallery, the userprofiles and a small guestbook (dont ask me why a guestbook is needed ^^)
you can create such a userpage on your profile- the old BBcodes have been fixed and heavily extended
- we have a nice Quickreplay (as requested by several users)
- there is a word marking on the search if there are hits on the thread names
- when you create a new thread you have the option to set a threat prefix such as "help needed" or "news" or "tutorial"
i guess that will be useful in future- there are new ranks on this forum based on the collected expierence (which is based on posts, threads, games... basically everything you do here)
- on your profile you will find various new styles for this forum so you can customize it a bit
the default style fits very well to the SWAT mainpage- the ICQ flower had to be fixed since ICQ did changes to their settings
but the status is only shown if you allow this in your ICQ messenger- after some idiot hacked the SWAT server 1 year ago some features were missing... such as the Xfire and Skype fields
you can enter your messengers on the profile- additionally to this there is the possibility to enter information about your jabber messenger account on the profile
- the moderators got a mod control center where they have the options to post announcements here on the forum and activate new members (if there is a problem with the normal activation procedure)
the modCP can be found on the top of this page (for moderators only)- on the profile you also have the option to enter your real name now (if you wish)
- since there were troubles with too big signatures in the past i have decided to implement the option to block signature for players which have too big ones
so you better be careful with that stuff... the forum still needs to stay readable -> this is no image gallery- a minor problems with the PMs has been fixed where read messages were still marked as unread until you change to a different site and come back
- some additional admin tools have been installed for me in oder to do changes on the forum a bit faster
- the logout bug has been fixed
- some of you already have wondered what this "membership" or this "long term membership" means... well its pretty simply... for every full year here at SWAT you get one point added
its nothing really useful but i thought its nice if some members know how long others are already here- there was a prob with sending forgotten passwords... well it should work again... at least it did work for me yesterday
- a minor glitch when editing posts has been fixed... now threads where posts have been edited will show up on the top of the search marked as "new"
- the eg (extragroup) buttons have been fixed
- an acronym addon has been installed giving an explaination about what "lol" "rofl" "asap" and such stuff means (unfortunatly i have to set up all words manually and that will be done later)
- a small status view has been added to every thread showing who is read it atm
- the user locator has been aded at the top of this forum
there you can enter your location and this will be shown on a map
a small map with your location will get visible on your profile- a warning addon has been installed
admins and moderators will be able to give out warnings to members which violated rules
once a member got 3 warnings he will get banned from this forum (atm for just one day ... but i might decide to use a longer period of time)
(for the moderators -> its the yellow image on posts)- members now have the possibility to leave this forum and delete their account
in the past there were several requests and now i offer that option- members also are able to change their name here on the forum
but they can do this just 3 times (after that changes are not possible)
some will say "oh my god... i small fakes"
well there is a security system -> the previous names can still be seen on the profile- since i give more powers to the moderators i decided to include a small log which will show me what they did (that that ppl start to complain about stuff that was done)
- in the past there were ppl which couldnt read that there were limitations for the avatar size
well now the avatar will be automatically resized to the forum standard if the original pic is too big- some ppl already asked me what that star on the posts

some already found out that there is a white page
well its something for admins
we can give points to good posts with that star... those points are shown below your avatar (for most of you there is 0 atm)- a small problems with names on posts have been fixed when the original authors have been deleted from the forum
- special ranks for moderators and admins have been added so we can also have ranks based on our posts
- table extensions have been added
- some buttons on the forum have been fixed
- the category buttons on the mainpage also look pretty nice now
- the paypal stuff has been fixed
- and finally the forum games
after the server got hacked many forum games were removed
now i have started to upload them again (20 more are coming)
but you notice that the scores are not detected with most of the games
thats because i dont have the scorevariables anymore and i need to find them out again- other games like UBS are also back again... and the problem that some users were not able to use the UBS has been fixed

nice, op.btw, shouldn't that b made to show or work only for admin/moderator profiles? this white page thingy does confuse a bit.
2nd, op, plz take a look at the posts that r rated - the left sidebar is somewhat shortened and lacks some stuff, like:

Next Level:it's ok if that can't b fixed, i'm just mentioning to make sure it doesn't mess up mysql.

that was the intention when i included this feature

the above mentioned bugs have been fixed
a poker game has been added to the forum
and 15 new flash games (working) have been added
another 20 flash games will be added later
(you have to scroll to the 2nd page when looking all forum games coz not all are showing up on the first one) -

u can try other t values, too, gives various sizes. m is for mod, but i don't know any other than g for gif. u can try other letters, see what does it do, if u wish. or search the net for info.i guess m=t gives back simple text, and u can use this for label text. many forums do that. code would b: [nfo]http://opi.yahoo.com/online?u=NAME&m=t[/nfo]
btw, u should use [nfo]http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/?im=NAME[/nfo] instead of the [nfo]http://edit.yahoo.com/config/s…mesg?.target=NAME&.src=pg[/nfo] u r using now for icon link, cause it's replaced.it's a small fix to forum code, but would b a nice addition.

ok so y'all know these little buttons that indicate your clan/staff membership, right? like this BloodGuard button
so i looked at it and started to think - if we are kinda changing the forum looks, why not change these buttons to umm... better suit the forum style/theme? so i messed around a bit and here we have a BloodGuard button (w/ a 4x better size than the original 
well actually i like this one (see below) even better:comments?
oh and OP. i learned a new trick in Photoshop that let me cut down file sizes ALOT (20x for this particular image) w/o any loss of quality
so we actually COULD have those nice colorful front-page buttons -
