Last time a bunch of people started digging in someones garden - a whole bunch of things turned up.

Since you have been around so long - maybe you want to reconsider this invitation - or do have have some things to confess before we start?

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

Or send them to Planet Blood c/o Custodian armed forces for final burial?

What ever happened to all those old BG vets anyway?

PS this is a EVE thread - lets talk of your summer BBQ OFF TOPIC

  • I haven't looked into it myself but the idea of it interests me. It's a hell of a lot of ISK though. Only a seriously accomplished player that has been playing for at least a year would be capable of generating that kind of income.

  • The writer was sort of proposing it could be done within your first few momths = but when some experienced players looked at the time involved to do it - they raised some doubts.

On LVL 1 missions - I can easily make 5 mill day, 5x30 = 150mill, I think even 10mill per day is possbile if you wreck and sell loot. Now what happens if you move to level 2 missions?

I think if someone started new and focussed on this tactic - maybe 2-3 months they could be financing their gameplay via selling ISK?

  • True, but that requires constant work, and for someone working full time, 5AM to 6PM like I do, it would be impossible.

Once I've been manufacturing for several months and am able to create more advanced weapons, components, star ships etc, I may be able to afford it. But either way, £12 odd a month is hardly a problem to pay.

May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.

  • Hmmm this is all very interesting^^ I just may take out a trial to see what this is all about.

It would seem that an efficient corporation can make enough isk to fund players that cant afford the monthly.

Speaking as a newbie in Eve - I reckon it would take many months to get something like this going - but yes - I think it can be done.

However, I will also post (heavily-edited) some rules for new players:

    1. Dont trust anyone.
    2. AFK does not exist in space.
    3. You are not even safe in the safest areas of the game.
    4. Don't trust anyone.
    5. There are no rules.

    I think that's a decent summary :-)

  • Allow me to expand on how the game is played.....

This is taken from the EVE Online Wikipedia page:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One example is the corporate heist perpetrated by the in-game assassin's guild Guiding Hand Social Club (GHSC). GHSC infiltrated a target corporation over the course of nearly a year before performing a virtual assassination on the target's CEO and stealing or destroying billions of credits' worth of property.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Az said, don't trust anyone :P

Also the fact that there have only been 9 (Confirmed that is) player owned Titan class ships constructed in the game, and one of these ships has the potential to destroy 250+ ships in a single shot, shows how seriously players take their ships ^^

If a battleship or something is heavily damaged and under attack, a corporation will pull out all the stops to retreive that ship and get it back to base for repairs, or face losing a ship worth in excess of 80,000,000 ISK, sometimes up to 130,000,000 ISK.

May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.

Shit, i think i`m gonna re-d-load the game again! ^^

  • Another update - what has been going on in my Eve universe?

Well firstly I have joined another Corp (clan jumper am I) which looks to be more professional, and even more important, sociable.

Unfortunately the biggest known trouble maker in all time and space, Ryzune, is in that Corp so there is potential for his usual story.

    1. Big fallout with another member of the Corp
    2. He blames everyone else but himself
    3. He leaves after setting fire to the Corp HQ

Its also possible that Captn Ryzune may even become my boss - but that aint never gonna happen :-)

Mining - got myself a Caldari Cruiser called an Osprey which is one of the best - newbie/ cheap mining platforms in the game - it will even outmine Captn Ryzune in his new spanking hot of the press specialist mining barge - and it looks quite nice and has a good friendly feel to it.

For those quiet moments where I like to ponder and philosophise I am able to use the Osrepy to go mining (fishing) and enjoy the peace and quiet. I have found a way to ensure total secure mining opportunities without the risk of someone coming along and stealing my ore - its a good trick and has allowed me to make quite a few millions.

Missions - got myself onto lvl 2 misisons which I was managing quite alright - until I got too confident attacing some ships with a bounty of 450k each - way beyond my skills and I paid a price in losing my ship - a cruiser called Thorax.

So I went back to lvl 1 missions to rebuild my confidence (lol it was shattered) and I am nearly able to go back AND KILL THOSE DAMN PIRATES!!

It seems the outcomes of battles in Eve are dictacted by 1million variables - but I read somewhere that outcomes

    = 25% skills, 25% equip,ship, 50% tactics

Therefore all sorts of unusual things happen now and again where a smaller ship used wisely can turn over huge battleships etc

Eve is cruel, there are no rules except - take what you can and give nothing back.

There is no discussion on fairplay or justice - Buyer beware!! Take it on the chin!! - If it can be done - then its within the rules :-)

What we would call Fake Chars are quite common - and indeed a tactic used by many people to infiltrate opposing corps - sometimes even spending more than 6 months with them to gain their trust - and then pull everything down around their heads in spectacular fashion.

I am now able to fly a Battlecruiser to do lvl 3 misisons - but I wont do that until I spend more time just enjoying the game and learning stuff - my view is that before you spend 20mill on a new ship - be sure you can use it properly :-)

Ships - there are dozens of ships for each of the four races and specialisation is the key - there is no uber super ship - not for 99.99999% of the people online. Each ship has a few bonus abilities desgined into it by the engineers - so its a good trick to link your fighting style with a ship that gives bonus to it - some give extra damage to weapons whilst others give extra protection or can help your Electronic Warfare efforts.

Trading - hmm - the most secretative aspect of Eve - trade routes once found are abused until the local economy is affected and the route stops becoming profitable - trade routes are never disclosed..

I have been thinking about this activity and have a few ideas and hope soon to put some into practise ;-)

But I cant tell you about what they are

  • I believe you will find that I shall be given the position as head of mining before the end of February!

I figure that's how long it will take me to build up a mining fleet and amassing my fortune. Then I shall be appointed as Head of Mining, and Shriisa will no longer be able to tell me that she outranks me!! I will outrank *her*! Muahahahahah!

  • Trading

The TOP SECRET trade in Eve

No ones knows anything - or says anything

    It's all cloak and dagger.

You can find general tips - but nothing specfic

Why the mystery? Whay are people keeping everything close to their chest?

    Hmmmmm - Very very interesting

Well I gave it a go last night.

Although Rizune correctly stated I got a bit aroused the other night penetrating some large asteroids - I am a man of many talents - and my corp knows I am a LOVER - not a MINER.

Ryzone has already changed his character - AGAIN - about the 5th time since I been on Eve - the guy cant decide what he wants or what he should do = frankly I am suprised he aint been kicked out of the corp - but hey - that's not my call.

Trading - I made 720k in 20mins - did that 3 times before the prices collapsed. Found another route later on elsewhere which gave about 1 Mill profit in about 25mins - did that one twice and even offered an investment opportunity to a few Corp mates that got 12% back on their return.

People dont share routes cos the market updates itself everytime you deliver a large order - prices change and lower - trade routes disappear.

The best routes quickly disappear as hundreds of guys are looking at the market and act asap to give a killer blow - to maximise their profit and move on -

There is no Prisoners run on Eve - what you do affects the economy - or does it?

I have my suspicions and will no doubt be investigating them soon enough.

Rest assured I think I can easily make 5mill per day now - and maybe even that magic 10mill a day that will allow me to play Eve for free - that's my goal.

Dont ask me how I am doing it though - cos I will have to kill u if I told u.

What is strange though - and will tell u something about this game -

It's the only game I ever played where its very helpful to keep a calculator at your desk - not a little one - but one of those larger ones used by businesses - Whats that all about?

  • I haven't been kicked from the corp because of my comedy value.

But I have pulled from online gaming, at the request of my parents. Something went terribly wrong last month, and I've agreed to stop playing and/or talking online.

    Ryzune out 8)

  • Laser`s Eve Newbie Report.

Well, i`m playing the game for 4 days now & i`ve managed to amass a nice fortune. I`m flying a Gallente Destroyer calltes ''Catalyst''. Nothing big... just 8 High Energy slots, 2 Med. Energy slots & 3 Low Energy slots. Cargo - 400 m3. I have mounted: 7 75mm Gatling Rails I,
1 Miner I, Civililian Shield booster I, Cold Gas - Jet Afterburner, 100mm reinforced Steel & Tungsten plates, 1 Small Armor Repairer I and a Warrior I drone. Enough to take a punch & hit back hard ^^

My goal was to buy myself a Gallente Cruiser. Bought the skills... all i needed was the ship. I needed 3 mil, but what i got was a hell lot more. I boosted up from 4 mil to 18 mil within less than 40 miuntes!!!! O_o Well, the cash didn`t come at a risk. Here`s how i managed to get 14 mil in such a short amount of time:

    WRECK LOOTING!!!

Yes, wreck looting. I got myself a fast frigate with a decent cargo hold. But one i could afford losing. I traveled into a 0.4 Security level system and started looting every wreck/container that was there. And there were quite a few of them, coz of the active pirates there. I took everything that i could get, brought it to the closest station & sold it... some pieces of equip were worth over 5 mil! I did 2 or 3 sweeps through the system, and when everything was empty, i returned to my Catalyst & bought myself the Cruiser. I even insured it on the Platinum level!!! Now i remember my corp leader said that i could make even more by salvaging. I`d need to mount a salvage laser 1st, but i don`t have the required skills yet, and i don`t want to waste any more time before i can fly my Cruiser. So Az, if ya want to get that ''magic'' 10 mil a day - here`s your chance ^^

Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

  • I got to say I am very impressed indeed - why didnt I think of that?

See me in 0.4 space next few days :-)

I did some trading/ hauling last few weeks and was able to make 5 mill/ hour in that - sometimes - usually about 3 mill per hour I would say

Currently I am running through missions and have access to a lvl 3 agent with an effective quality of 29 - which will give 1mill prize per miss - not including loot or salvage.

Good luck Laser - it seems u have the right type of thinking for this game -

I hope u tell us more of ur tricks u learn :-)

  • 0.4 space? 8o
Im only in system with not so high risk :D
I make only missions for a better agent
(in moment only lvl 1 agents) :(
see you from time to time in space ;)
