…Despite it being on a temporary hiatus following a rather lackluster fourth act, BioWare’s Mass Effect series continues to represent a golden standard that other RPG developers continue to look up to while crafting their own IPs. Known for its immersive story, diverse combat, and smart writing, the Mass Effect series allowed players to forge their own path while leaning towards either good (Paragon) or evil (Renegade) in terms of player choice. At least, that’s what BioWare had planned, though it has been revealed that the overwhelming majority of players simply stuck to Paragon playthroughs.
Former BioWare Cinematic Designer John Ebenger recently responded to a Tweet wherein it is joked that despite a developer’s best efforts to create quality content for both sides of the table, the player sticks with doing nothing but good deeds, leaving a lot of work unseen. Ebenger responds stating that something
