…Hello Everyone,
In 2021, to close out the year, we re-ran the year’s expeditions in a reduxed format over the holiday season to give people another chance to experience these events and reap the rewards when time is perhaps a little more available. That proved to be very popular so we are pleased to announce that we are doing it again.
Here are the dates:
Expedition 5 (Exobiology): 24th Nov – 8th Dec
Expedition 6 (Blighted): 8th Dec – 22nd Dec
Expedition 7 (Leviathan): 22nd Dec – 5th Jan
Expedition 8 (Polestar): 5th Jan – 18th Jan
Rewards for these expeditions include the Exotic Wingpack customisation, the Helios and Quad Companions, and the legendary Leviathan Frigate – along with much more!
2022 marks our sixth year in the life of No Man’s Sky and it has been one of the busiest yet.
In February, we released our first ever handheld version of No Man’s Sky day and date with Steam Deck. It has been amazing to us

I usually try to shake things up a bit more, but we've been on kind of a roll this week with unboxing videos. Dare I share a third one in a row? I will! Yesterday we saw one of the big box/film can versions of Wing Commander 3 opened up, and today we have its exotic cousin - the German big box film can WC3 special edition! You can find a photo of its contents in Dennis Mull's collection here. Or watch CometMatti open his below! It's in German, but the excitement is clear in any language!

…Hello Everyone!
As the end of October approaches, we are thrilled to announce a new seasonal event for No Man’s Sky. Expedition Four: Emergence begins today, and will run over the course of Halloween! This is our first Expedition to feature a narrative, and is also a mini-update, bringing with it a host of enhancements for across the game.
New Expedition
Across the universe, planets have been blighted by the activity of Titan Worms. These colossal sandworms plough through the desert sands, blacking out the sun as they arc overhead, and defiling the very terrain with their cursed dust.
In Expedition Four: Emergence, travellers will find themselves stranded on planet Wasan, a barren world ravaged by dust storms and infested with Titan Worms. It is up to you to locate the Titan Worm impact sites, destroy the wretched Hungering Tendrils, and collect the Vile Spawn that lingers behind. The vessels of the many mouths must be

…The video game world has many passionate fandoms, with one of the most passionate being the Mass Effect fan community. The N7 fans have remained passionate for the series, even during a long hiatus of new games or updates on the series’s continuation. Given the series’s nature of romance options, fans have tended to fixate on particular characters and herald them as the person or alien of their dreams. One such character has been Garrus, who has been given the usual treatment of action figures and plush toys. Now, a Garrus body pillow has been made available for sale to these particular fans.
Drift into sweet dreams with your @MassEffect Garrus Body Pillow Case! Yes, it’s real. https://t.co/iazbzke66i pic.twitter.com/N5hd0DepSC

Wojo dropped off a picture of a couple new Lego Wing Commander creations, and these are pretty sweet. There's a chronically under appreciated Scimitar on the left and a very structurally accurate Drakhri on the right! Everyone loves the Dralthi, but we've seen a million of those, so it's wonderful to see the Drakhri properly represented here. I don't even think everyone will realize its silver and yellow color scheme is totally on point. In fact, they're both pretty color accurate. Not bad at all!
Imma just leave this here then...

General: Resolved an issue that was preventing some promotional Fleet Modules from being accepted by Ship Vendors. "Khitomer in Stasis" is no longer eligible to be chosen via Random TFO, at any difficulty level. Resolved an issue that prevented Klingon superweapons from animating during activation in the Dyson Sphere Adenture Zone. Resolved an issue in the "Future Proof" mission group, so that when accessing missions from sector space, the mission start and continue buttons show at the top of the button list and are in gold text. Resolved an issue that prevented correct Bridge Officers from appearing on the TOS Constitution Bridge.

EmuMusicFan has completed another set of regal Kilrathi drawings based primarily on the characters of Wing Commander Action Stations. Prince Thrakhath's father and older brother, Gilkarg and Ratha, are up first, and since this is from earlier in the war, Thrakhath himself appears younger. We also see Second Fleet commander Admiral Nargth. Although he's not in AS, Baron Melek is also included as a bonus sketch. I think this art style is sharp, elegant and has a subtle Asian influence that is well suited to the Kilrathi.

Q&A: Aopoa San’tok.yāi
Following the launch of the San’tok.yāi from Aopoa, we took our questions to the ship designers to give you more information on this recently-unveiled medium class fighter.
Special thanks to John Crewe and Todd Papy for answering our questions.
What can the San’tok.yāi do that the Khartu-al cannot and vice versa? What are the advantages and disadvantages? What are the main differences?
In the Xi’an order of battle, the Khartu-al serves principally as a light fighter, scout, and skirmisher, whereas the San’tok.yāi is a medium fighter and direct combatant. Just like the UEE Military, the Xi’an military employs various types of fighters with different strengths and performance characteristics. The comparison between a Khartu-al and a San’tok.yāi is similar to the comparison between a Gladius and a Hornet – one emphasizes firepower and the other emphasizes speed

…The Federal Security Service has discovered more administration robots fitted with secret surveillance programs.
Lieutenant Inspector Ramesh Thorne informed the media:
"Our investigation into Lloyd Hardacre's admin robot, which secretly recorded evidence of corporate fraud, has broadened significantly. Acting on reports of unusual behaviour, we have found five further robots containing hidden surveillance programs."
"In each case, the robot was a PA912 model, manufactured by the Achilles Corporation. The robots' owners are now helping us with our enquiries."
Two of the five owners have been identified. Don Zhao is the CEO of Kuiper Mining Inc., while Anya Blackriver runs a public-relations consultancy with offices in Olympus Village, San Francisco and Columbus station.
A spokesperson for the Achilles Corporation gave this statement:
"We are cooperating with the FSS investigation, and would

…Kilrathi Sagabundle was released, it was met with a mixed reception. While it provided an accessible method for playing the classic trilogy on faster Windows 95 computers, it also contained a few technical glitches and oddities. One notable change is that the
Wing Commander IIIport had its MIDI soundtrack swapped out for WAV audio recordings of the same, and not particularly high quality ones at that. Today, playing the originals through DOSBox provides a much better overall gameplay experience on modern hardware. But just as the Kilrathi Saga remains a must-buy item for collectors, we do want to preserve the KS WC3 music for posterity. Forums member

…50 years is a major milestone, traditionally commemorated by making adventurous, brave, and occasionally reckless decisions. Choosing to try new experiences, opening life’s throttle and seeing where it takes us.
Some may refer to this as a mid-life crisis, but here at MISC we embrace it as an expression of individuality and vitality.
In 2898 the New Horizon Speedway opened on Green, ushering in what many consider the modern era of the Murray Cup. That same year, a MISC ship set a time on the new course that is yet to be bested. That ship, a Daedalus mkVIII, didn’t end up bringing the cup home for MISC but it forever associated the company with star racing, and paved the way for Trevor Yuman’s eventual victory in the now-iconic Razor.
Five decades later, MISC is still pushing the boundaries of innovation. As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of that record run on the New Horizon, MISC

…The Belgian Chess History website runs a remarkable blog where they analyze and dissect chess games in progress across a variety of film and television. They look at the chess board setups and discuss how the characters (often inexplicably) got into their situation. Wing Commander has been featured, and it got a characteristically brutal scrubbing. Not only do they hate the setup, they're not fond of the characters nor even the chess pieces! You can find the full Belgian Chess History article here.
LOAF actually researched and found the actual chess set used in the WC Movie a while back. He also put together a slightly more accurate placement of the pieces, pictured below.
LOAF: It's just not a situation anyone would reasonably get to. Unless Bishop, a man named after a chess piece with said piece painted on his Rapier, is particularly terrible at chess.Belgian Chess History: The idiot on the table

…Arcade Attackhas posted a wide-ranging
interviewwith Origin veteran
Starr Long. It discusses Mr. Long's extensive career at Origin and with the larger MMO scene, including his current work on
Shroud of the Avatar. At about the 30 minute mark, there's also some fun discussion on Wing Commander. He talks about how Privateer and Armada were ahead of their time regarding their open world and multiplayer capabilities respectively. In addition to working quality assurance and playtesting on these two titles, he was also involved in QA with the Academy mission builder. There's also this quote, which is both somewhat depressing while giving fans reason to be optimistic about the future:
AA: Do you think there’s room for a new game in the [Wing Commander] series?SL: Oh, absolutely. Every few years we ping Electronic Arts about some of the intellectual property they own like Ultima and Wing Commander.

I’m in desperate need of your expertise.
Since we last crossed paths, I’ve been laying low. Was even earning an honest day’s wage until an old connect tracked me down in Stanton. They offered me a security gig at a secluded “trading” outpost on Yela and the pay was too sweet to pass up. Since the outpost was remotely operated, they wanted me on site to make sure everyone behaved themselves. I knew from rep that they’d become serious players from the days when we’d been running together, but the straight life wasn’t exactly the most comfortable, so against my better judgement I took the gig.
Everything went smoothly until an uptick in activity brought extra scrutiny to the place. Soon bounty hunters and other damn do-gooders started sitting on the place, looking to earn a few creds or make a name for
