    Still striving to get the greatest performance out of your equipment? This weekend will be the perfect time to apply Tech Upgrades to your gear, as we’re doubling the amount of Technology Points earned from each one applied! From Thursday, April 19th at 8AM PST to April 23rd at 10AM PST, every Tech Upgrade used will apply twice as many Technology Points toward your next Upgrade! This in turn reduces the amount of Dilithium that must be spent to reach each Upgrade threshold, allowing Captains additional chances to attain both Mark and Rarity increases on their favored load outs. .share-footer a { margin: 20px 10px 10px 0; background: url(http://images-cdn.perfectworld…157ae31ec5b1466398539.png) no-repeat 0 0; opacity: .5; display: inline-block; height: 60px; width: 60px; padding: 0; border: 1px solid transparent; -webkit-transition: opacity .3s;

    AD, the CIC's resident finder of things and doer of stuff, came across this video to help you start your Wing Commander week. It's a nifty animation by Kyle Bumpus that recreates the initial intro to Wing Commander 1. I'm actually surprised there aren't a lot more takes on this iconic scene. Check it out below!

    Last summer at Star Trek Las Vegas, we revealed the exciting announcement that Hero Collector, the company that produces the Star Trek Starships Collection, would be producing a line of ships from Star Trek Online. Last weekend, at Destination Star Trek, we took the stage with Hero Collector to announce the first two ships of that line! Now, you can get your first look at the Gagarin-Class Federation Battlecruiser, and the Cimera-Class Federation Heavy Destroyer, coming soon! Star Trek Online players may remember the Chimera-Class Federation Heavy Destroyer from Victory is Life, the game’s exploration into Deep Space Nine. This massive Federation starship was commanded by Nog, Starfleet’s very first Ferengi captain. The ship will be released as a loving tribute to the actor who brought this character to life in the show and within the game, Aron Eisenberg. The Gagarin-Class Federation Battlecruiser

    Zende Partners has revealed plans to establish a ferry service between the core systems and Guardian space.

    Freya Taine, the company's CEO, made this statement:

    "In response to increasing demand for Guardian commodities, my company aims to facilitate access to the area once occupied by the Guardians. This will involve the construction of a megaship to transport pilots to and from this comparatively inaccessible region."

    "Five systems have been highlighted as potential destinations, and we'd like to invite the galactic community to decide which of these should serve as the termination point for the megaship. We will then build an outpost in the chosen system, and the megaship will enter service."

    "We hope that this initiative will stimulate new innovations in the field of Guardian-human technology."

    Spacedock

    has profiled another Wing Commander vessel! The BWS Intrepid is the star this episode of "Sci-Fi Ships You've Never Heard Of." Daniel, the author, has a huge soft spot for the WC series, and he's especially fond of this one. He pulls from a mix of high res original renders and fan project shots for gorgeous exterior imagery, and he even goes inside to highlight the FMV sets built for WC4. While Spacedock is known for its videos on Star Wars, Star Trek and other mainstream media, they've recently kicked off a weekly Wednesday livestream of the WC series. They've just started WC3 and will move on the The Price of Freedom after that! Check them out on

    Today we've got a Dralthi sketch by DingoPatagonico. I suppose I have no idea how long sketches are supposed to take, but this one apparently took under an hour, which seems impressive. It's really smooth for a freehand drawing, and by my eye, this one runs very close to the Claw Marks lineart. You can't go wrong with that as your inspiration!
