…For almost three centuries, Squadron 88 delivered on its motto — “Stand and Deliver.” The squadron’s lineage goes back to the Second Tevarin War, though it didn’t see any action in that conflict. It has spent time along the Perry Line and, most famously, made the ultimate sacrifice during the Fall of Caliban. It was there the 88th earned its famous and fateful nickname “The Lost Squad.”
The 88th was formed in 2608 as the Tevarin military was pushing their way through the Empire for a second time. Their leader, Corath’Thal, was expertly using guerilla tactics to terrorize the Human public and force the UEE Navy to divide their more powerful military resources. In response, the Navy reorganized its ranks to better respond to the Tevarin’s asymmetrical warfare. It was as part of this restructuring that the 88th came into existence.
Classified as a support squadron, the 88th provided logistical help to

…This is Ambassador Odo. The Hur'q are about to devour this planet, and we don't have enough time to get everyone to safety. The Dominion ships have been incapacitated by the Hur'q swarm. Help us secure the civilians before the main Hur’q forces arrive! The ever-ravenous Hur’q swarm are attacking Dominion planets. Help the Jem’Hadar ships keep the swarm at bay while the planet organizes an evacuation plan. To increase the number of citizens we can save, we’ve decided to use multiple planetary escape routes. Keep the routes clear of the Hur’q or they’ll devour the transport ships! Swarm is our first five player cooperative space queue available in the “Victory is Life” expansion. Participating in it will earn you a choice of Fleet, or Gamma marks. The queue is available to captains over level 50. Good luck, and good hunting. LOAF recently found a nifty marketing prerelease snap of the Wing Commander 4 box. As the story
goes, the stark geometric pattern of the main box eventually gave way to a slipcase sleeve with a more action-oriented center. You can see in the shot below that this bears a fairly strong resemblance to the final design. The core art and even font are in place, but the lettering was repositioned a bunch before production. Note that it just says "Wing IV" on the side though!

Hello Citizens!
Last week, a few members of the Star Citizen team were in San Franciscio for GDC 2018 showing off the latest Alpha 3.1 build, and with it, the newly flyable Aegis Reclaimer, Anvil Terrapin, MISC Razor, and Tumbril Cyclone. It was rewarding to meet both new and long-standing community members alike, so thank you to those who had a chance to stop by and meet the team. Also, a big thanks to our volunteers from the Community who worked side-by-side with us all week, we could not have done it without you o7.
Also, as we shuffle features and mechanics looking toward Alpha 3.2, we wanted to know which features you are most excited about seeing implemented, improved and refined. We have created a Alpha 3.2 Survey to help us prioritize over the next quarter. Be sure to check it out and vote if you haven’t already!
Lastly, with Alpha 3.1 on the horizon, and the Persistent Universe continuing

…Writer’s Note: Part two of The Cup was published originally in Jump Point 1.9. You can read Part one here.
At the end of the first stage in the Murray Cup race through the Ellis system, Ykonde Remisk edged out Hypatia Darring with a boost flare that, while technically legal, was definitely dangerous. Both of these two Human racers finished ahead of their main competition, the veteran Tevarin Zogat Guul and the wily Xi’an Nyanāl Mo‘tak Xu.oa. Darring reacts to Remisk’s maneuver …
Darring jumped out of her racer, sped across the carrier bay floor, found Remisk in the middle of a media gang, and drove her fist toward his cheery face.
He ducked just in time.
One of Remisk’s crew grabbed Darring and held her back as she hurled accusations. “You son of a bitch! You could have killed me!”
Remisk recovered from the attempted assault and played it cool in front of the crowd, adjusting his collar and giving a

…Hello Citizens!
This Sunday, in the spirit of holiday fun, we invite you to take part in an old fashioned (but also thoroughly futuristic, in this case) Scavenger Hunt. Starting at 12am PDT on Sunday April 1st we’ll be tweeting out obscured images of a locations within the ‘Verse.
You, the players, must then track down the location, capture an image of your character standing in front of the hinted location, and reply to the twitter thread with your screenshot for that specific hinted image. The first person to successfully post an image of their character at the correct location wins that round.
We will tweet 8 images throughout the day, with the first at midnight (as we mentioned) and a new one going out every three hours, culminating in the final tweet at 9pm (all times PDT.)
That means 8 chances to win your very own Aegis Vulcan with LTI. Huzzah!

…Star Citizen Patch 3.1.0
We are excited to announce the release of Alpha Patch 3.1.0 to all Star Citizen backers. This update marks the first of four quarterly patches planned to be released this year, and the inaugural success of the new delivery schedule. At the start of the year, our internal teams underwent a restructuring to allow for easier coordination and focus on a particular aspect or feature. Thanks to this new approach, the development team was able to more efficiently tackle the goals outlined for 3.1 on our Production Roadmap and introduce several new gameplay features and optimizations to Star Citizen.
Starting with Alpha 3.1, players will find new ways to interact with each other. The Character Customizer is now accessible from the main menu and allows players to distinguish their avatars with various combinations of hair style, skin tone, and more. This is just our first iteration of
