Disgraced politician Juanita Bishop has called for a forthcoming book about the Far God sect to be banned:

"The authors, Ulyanov and Okonkwo, are known alien sympathisers. One was arrested as a suspected traitor and the other has admitted to being a Far God cultist!"

"What they're writing is nothing more than pro-Thargoid propaganda. It is an insult to all the brave souls who died trying to keep us safe. The authorities need to prevent this book from contaminating innocent people with its repulsive ideas."

Journalist Gethin Okonkwo, who spent months undercover in the Far God sect, responded:

"The book includes first-hand accounts of worshippers being attacked by Bishop's followers. Her desperation to halt its publication is nothing more than an attempt to prevent a criminal investigation into her activities."

arena15at.jpgWe were just talking about unusual places that the Wing Commander Arena logo was popping up, and here's another one. Collins Cake Creations makes themed cakes in Liverpool, and they've done a number of video game-inspired designs. Their latest is Xbox themed, and it's topped by a Wing Commander Arena cutout. You could nitpick and point out that Arena is a 360 game, that's an Xbox Series X controller and the rest of it are items from the Xbox One, but I love it. Hopefully someone has an awesome 40th birthday!

Johann Fleischer, the recently appointed head of the mining corporation Caine-Massey, has been shot and killed on Mars.
Fleischer was attending a Federal Commerce Authority seminar at the Olympus Village Conference Centre. He was targeted in the audience by long-range plasma fire that proved immediately fatal. Security forces were unable to locate the shooter, but the weapon and other items were recovered.
Philippa Barlow-Lyons , the COO of Caine-Massey, told the media:
"I am saddened and sickened by this tragedy, as is everyone in the Caine-Massey family. Johann was approved as our new CEO late last year. He was a much-respected champion of enterprise, and a close personal friend. No effort must be spared in finding his murderer."
Executive Agent Viola Trask provided a statement from the Federal Intelligence Agency:
"At present, the assassin's identity and whereabouts remain unknown. The

AD found a fun trove of Wing Commander goodness in the May 1996 issue of Computer and Video Games magazine. It's naturally a treat to find a WC article in any publication, but this one has two - plus a bonus! Wing Commander 4 initially debuted on the PC on February 12, 1996 while Wing Commander 3 made its way to the Playstation on March 27. Due to publication and newsstand schedules, that put both in back-to-back review slots in this issue. There's lots of lovely screenshots to admire here. Interestingly enough, they actually gave the WC3 PSX port a higher score than WC4, which is pretty surprising. Nevertheless, there's a final tease on the upcoming release list. Wing Commander 4 is showing as an in-development title for the 3DO. While this was briefly the case, the game was not to be!
