you dont have to destroy it -
I also cannot dock with the Sleepership Stalin to get inside.
You can normally fly through inside, its wrecks with inside open to space ... there is not "dock with"

Ok, so you fly into the ship, like this? And then you shoot the container down and nothing comes out? You have to shoot it really carefully, point it and fire only one gun

aka you shoot the Secret Storage Container and it drops the datadisk - change your angle a bit.
