And for your next Question: it is recommended to use a meaningful header for your post.
For example: "What is the Multiplayer ID?"
Especially in other forums you'll often get no answer when opening a thread with "I have a Problem" or "PROLBEM!!!11!!!"

I connected when there were 29 players online. So what about a medal?
Edit: spelling

just curious ,But why would you want it on 2 screens?
I think dual screen would be problematic, because your aim and all the hud-windows would be splitted. I'd rather test a triple-screen setup. With a fisheye foxv value in the camra.ini you would be able to look behind your ship without turning around
(But i think with the jflp.dll in 1.82 this isn't easy to get working)Edit: i think he wants to try it because he has 2 monitors - why waisting one of them, when you may get an "ultra widescreen cinerama space view"?
-
How did you change the resolution?
Edited the perfoptions.ini or only the freelancer.ini or both? Or did you do something else to change it? -
Okay, so my definition of "it works" differs from yours
Being merely a consumer of your mod i actually never thought the reputations might be changing between your mods. -
CF1.81 savegames do work with CF1.82
CF1.7 savegames do not work with one of the 1.8x versionsDon't want to be a nitpicker, but:
i have a savegame from the 19th june 2009 (i bought a Komodo Dragon on Vega this day) and it's certainly working and certainly not from a CF 1.8xBut may be i'm just lucky.

@ Bond:
Hey, it's free-lancer, so ofc i feel free to ask^^So the "other way to install CF" you meant to be possible is what you've written about this whole uninstallment stuff (even if i'm not really convinced that it'll work, but i'm also not going to risk my working 1.82 for recti- or falsifying ^^) and then install CF just like all of us with the FLMM?
To your answer relating to the save game question - i'm honest: because i was never able to get 1.8(1) working on my PC i just deduced from my experience with 1.7 and 1.82 that the old savegames will work. IMHO it would be a little bit strange if a "bug fixing release" is working with thesave games from older versions but not with the ones from 1.81. But if you have other experiences, so i wouldn't neglect this possibility.
So can you confirm this? -
Quoted from "Ghoti_1"
Instead of renaming the folder and restoring empty backups you can also simply use "Options -> Choose a different Freelancer directory" in the FLMM and apply the mod afterwards.Wrong.
The "Choose a different FL Directory" option ONNLY works when you have NO mod activated.
that way is simple, activating 1.82 from 0 mods installed is easy, new and fresh of everything.
But if you already had cf 1.81 or some other mod activated with that FLMM, you have to get ridd of the connection btw FLMM and the Mod first, as if you try that option it will tell "Please deactivate all mods before changing directories"... and unless you want to compleetly destroy and make unusable your last installation, simply renaming itYes, you are right.
Even so, in my case (and i don't know why) the FLMM didn't complain. But i'm interested how Bond is going to install 1.82 otherwise.
And i'm flying around in 1.82 SP with my Savegames from CF 1.7.
So i take his statement as mocking...P.S.: Bond's advice to Uninstall CF 1.81 in the FLMM and afterwards activate 1.82 in the same game folder is most probably not going to work. I once compared a fresh installation with a modded and then unmodded one - they are different. You can try it nonetheless, it's always worth to go new ways, but be prepared for a flop.

ANSWERS:
1) install it from your CD. (if you don't have it anymore, you may find something in the deep dungeons of the internet...)
2) No. (as far as i know, for example simply copying the mod files into the folder won't work)
3) Yes. -
Instead of renaming the folder and restoring empty backups you can also simply use "Options -> Choose a different Freelancer directory" in the FLMM and apply the mod afterwards.I have to correct this. Doing it that way generally leads to an error message from FLMM.
Only be sure that your selected directory contains an unmodded vanilla FL.And don't be scared: even if the FLMM is "not responding" and the green bar seems to be frozen, just wait another 10 minutes. In my case it did work even when i was doing something else with my computer... so using your mouse is allowed

I just want to say thank you, OP-R8R!
Loading the 1.82 installer right now, and hopefully the AV-Issue is no longer preventing me from participating in MP.
So what to do in the next hour while the files are loading? May be writing the 1001st "This is the greatest mod post" (honestley one should say: the greatest game, because CF is ofc more than just an addendum) won't deepen the appreciation furthen than already done by more important players than me.So i will stick for the next 60 minutes on the already breathtaking 1.7 SP - and wish me luck for the installation process
cya soon ingame...
Edit: Installation works perfectly, everything is fine.

There is a way to make things easier in SP without changing any files of the Mod.
Go to your C:\Users\%Username\Documents\My Games\Freelancer folder and open the PerfOptions.ini. Then change the value DIFFICULTY_SCALE to something like 0.80 or less.
This will reduce the damage you get from NPCs shooting at your ship, so the time you need to kill your enemies will probably not decrease. This will only help if you're having trouble to survive engagements.Be sure you reset this setting when playing online - i don't know if this will affect Multiplayer too, but i wouldn't risk being banned for cheating or tempering with the Mod. IIRC OP has some anti-cheat-detection in his mod...
In the end, i agree with the other postings: it will do you more good, especially for PvP-fighting skills, if you take the time to train. NPCs are really not that hard, only a little bit tedious.
