OK, now for some "input" by one of these notorious, the community not forthbringing SINGLE PLAYER.
Quite a time ago (atm I don't have the time to look up all my posts to create a proper link here. ... or too lazy
) there arouse the question
of information on the handling, manouverability of ships and if such info could be integrated into the info cards or mentioned elsewhere
(lexicon ? wiki ? perhaps). Can't remember who was in charge for this at SA R&D at this time (Ryleous Arkane ? MartindForlon ?). But
the general idea seemed to be well accepted.
As it looks like, SA R&D didn't have enough resources to go on this track, since I didn't found anything. So I did a bit myself. and here it comes:Independant Sirius Informaton Services ltd.
Published by Antiquated Private EnterpreneurDue to the persistant, discrete and expensive efforts of one of our free contributors ISIS ltd. is now in the position to offer informations held by TRAF
(the Rheinland Space Traffic Authority) on technical specifications of the products of several space craft manfacturers, as needed for licencing their
products and their review by the "Technischer Überwachungsverein Rheinland" (technical surveilance association). We were able to open a discrete
source for some of their classified reports and feel obliged to open them up for the public.Since the sellers of spacecraft take an attitude in their advertisments and buyers information as the to us only legendary known"CAR SELLERS",
praising their their products as the ultimate offer but giving little, no or even distracting information, this publication intends to be a help for all the folks
out there, who worked hard to get enough credits together for fullfilling their dream to reach the stars IN THEIR OWN SHINY SPACE CRAFT !First a note on how these reports should be understood. ISIS ltd. are no masters of engeneering. Therefor we can only give limited guarantee on
interpretations of the test stand data we have. Please keep in mind that these are "normative", what might explain their similarity, due to industrial standards.
Also their is still a for each ship individual "form factor", that slightly influences motional behavior (the almost completly vertical orientated "Piranha" will behave
different to the almost horizontal "Legionnaire".) But hopefully they will give you a clue on the abilities of the craft you might be up to purchase. For each ship there will be two values influencing their manoeuverability on each of their axes:
X: pitch up or down Y: yawn left or right Z: roll bellyup or belly downThe first value shall indicate, how fast the ship turns in the according axes, when standing still, measured in degree per second (values rounded).
The more, the better. Should be easy to understand.
On the Z-axis will be an additional value. This indicates the by the manufacturer built in limitation for a a maximal roll. Also measured in degree.
As you all might remember from your first planet-bounded flyind lessons, often a "proper" roll with a following good pitch changes your direction more effective,
then relying on yawn. The second value shall indicate the "inertia" of the ship, when in motion, measuered in percentage of weight (values rounded).
The more, the worse. It may also be called "sluggishness". It is a statement about the force needed to change the ships direction. Might be best be observed,
when flying in "engine kill"-mode. When you "drift in one direction, turn and accelerate in the new direction. Less "inertia", faster acceleration in the new direction. The ships data presentation will be sorted by the class, they are lincenced to by the Rheinland TRAF (Space Traffic Authority):
LF light fighters
FR freighters
HF heavy fighters (since TRAF is quite conservative, more modern fighters called "medium" might be found here)
VHF very heavy fighters (since TRAF is quite conservative, also bombers and torpedobombers might be found here)As the deciphering of the data is still going on we will extend this piblication.
Independant Sirius Information Services hopes the informations published here will help you in determing "just the right ship" for everyone.
If you're not happy with what you get, try to find a capable engeneeer; who might "pimp your ride".Editors note: Please understand, that here only values of "day to day" ships are listed. The according data for bigger ships, especially military ones
(gunboats, cruisers, battleshiups, transports, freight trains, liners) are so highly classifed and encrypted, that ISIS isn't able to provide them here ("YET").
Antiquated Private EnterpreneurEditors note2: ISIS would welcome any offer of advice, assistance, collaboration and correction on this task. Also we offer collabaration, like access to our
data and deciphering algorhytyms, to any other organisation interested in. Attractive conditions on such a deal will be granted, even though we had already
quite some expenses.
Antiquated Private EnterpreneurPlease read carefully how to interprete these data. And here it comes.

I disagree on this one.
...... during the past 10 years clans never had big problems recruiting, even without shiny features....and the last months ???

Hi, Cro
will there be a Starflier TDM comming sunday again ? If so I would LOVE to participate again....If it doesn't take place too early.
Due to RL-matters I most likely won't be around the next 2 days and return lately on sunday.
So 20:30 server time would be managable, 21:00 server time would fit VERY WELL (for me).
If these times are possible count me in !.I will try to check here the next days, al least on sunday.

Well, I SAW it.
YOU SHOWED IT TO ME YESTERDAY

Dear OP, I have to apologize,
I often lamented about the "silly" flight behavior of the npc's, esp any light fighter (DAMN XENOs).
Today I took part in the Starflier TDM event. It was Big FUN, even though I am completly unexperienced in handling the communication, trading, chat control
correctly and prob. gave Cro-Legend quite a headache). I also learned, apart from what is often said, MISSILES WORK DAMN WELL in pvp
.AND I also saw the other participants wiggle and niggle and ziggle around JUST as the npc Xeno Starfliers.
So, this quirky movements seem to be a result of the i-net connection (lag ?) and are NOT, as I previously thought, caused by your modding of the abilities of the npcs.
They are already much harder to fight in SP (where's no lag of an internetconnection) and what I like.Pperhaps only the BigDaddy mod npcs are similar, but mostly due
to a different balancing of weaps, armor and shields, less by their flying. Please accept my apology for blaming you on this, OP

Same as Raiden: THX Cro
and ... my first 2 kills EVER in pvp
(well, prepared by you, I have to admit) -
@ Shockwave
Just take it as regional differences of interstellar dust density in different system.
So different "friction" in different systems and accordingly different ships movement. As part of "realistics".

i disagree a bit quicker the charge time is too slow, i don,t wish it to escape just charge quicker
What charging time do think of ?
What time would be "faster" for you to be felt WITHOUT being an escape ?ATM it's pretty standard original about 5 sec.

I don't know if it's possible but I think it would be nice to improve the quality of the cockpit-view, because I think like the cockpit is now it's a bit boring. Just some more Details, mabe a little radar at the background or some buttons would be nice.
Yeah, THAT would be an improvement !
Not the stuff with the "useable" buttons, mentioned in the following post, but the cockpit-view itself.
I mean, ... , perhaps the camera position or its angle of view could be changed. The cockpit models itself, esp the ones OP has created are GREAT, with buttons, "monitors", "hands on the rudders" and stuff.
But you can't see most of it, since the "camera", your view seems, as if your nose is sitting just behind the
cockpit glas, any further ahead und your head would stick out of the cockpit at all.
(Personal opinion. That's just as it feels for me.)edit:
@ Prt-Cht and LonewolfSOCIsn't this what you had in mind, when you created the SWAT-portal, OP ?
Crossthinking of different games, getting/being familiar with different, preferrable moddable space-games, creating new things ev. by porting one feature
from here to there and vice versa ?
Btw, any thoughts about carrying on with StarLancer Solwars ? -
Will there be an event tomorrow ?
I am definitly willing to come !
My Flier stands already on the "parking deck" .

Thank you for the clarification one more time, sad as ever.

@NucNuc - did you ever bother to read the server rules? And now please explain me where you dont find any info about what license is what for and how you can act inbetween those outlined rules?
I read them a hundred times or more (just did it again), there isn't ANYTHING in the rules about the roles/licenses,
only ingame, when on a main planet, contemplating to buy one, there are these 4 four, five lines to read.
As there was the role play board I spent hours lookong for hints, what the role meant, what they could do or not, how they shoul act, etc........
I only found the above mentioned futile discussions or flame wars.
To be honest, only the stories on fan fiction, stories written by clan members and so on gave me some small ideas, what the roleplay here should be.And how actual such information would be needed !
just look here
Questions from a new guyedit: sorry about the last, never came along michaels link before, just studying.
