... put a sticky note alongside the mod download itself to let players know firsthand that their AV will show CF as a false positive and to follow some basic steps to remedy this error...

...this would have helped me big time...

...or is this by design, to test players ability to get the mod working with their ability to play the mod itself...personally I don't believe this though...but you never know what you get when you download something off the web these days...

P.S. Since getting the mod to work and playing CF for over a month now, I have to say that it's awesome!!! :)

You have no idea how hard it really is. CF has some nasty badass NPC's, and believe me they will love to devour your pilot flesh anytime you enter their space.

Be prepared before you take on these aliens...or you'll be sorry.

BTW I still haven't been able to kill any hostile Dom's...I guess this is preparing me for MP...I used to be such a nice pilot...Oh well.

Is there somewhere that explains in detail how to post pictures in your post?

I know of a few ways ,but I would like to know how to do it for this forum.

Posting pictures will make any thread more attractive, almost as attractive as Huor's avatar.

Donomad...the best advice I can give you as a pilot still playing SP is to not go into the inner core until you are ready.

You really need to spend the time exploring the mod. This will allow you to find the best ship and equipment, and find out about the quests.

Before you can enter the inner core you need...

to have a good rep with DK's...you'll need this in order to travel through their systems...

to have the best VHF ship you can afford with the best shield and weapons...

to be aware that once your enter the inner core...

you will meet the nastiest and most lethal NPC's in the mod, so be prepared to fight or like I did, running and evading...

the adrenalin will be awesome...just like this mod...so good luck

    No worries ...007.

I love a little venom in any discussion, it's healthy for the forum.

I have no issues with anyone in the forum, but I do like to stir things up once in while.

You know it's like a little brother you tease all the time...you pick on him but you still love him.

Anyways, when I get frustrated with the forum, I just go the Punani forum...

Heron and Menton are in Altair Sector. Weth is in the Inner Core Sector. They are completely different parts of Crossfire space.

    Like I said before, confused.

there were four GMG pilots who went into the Inner Core before you.

If you follow the clues (often floating pieces of debris), you will find GMG wrecks. A couple of the wrecks contain life pods with GMG pilots who are still alive.

    .

I never knew this, thanx I will check this out once I get back to the inner core.
I might have read this somewhere, but meeting the hostile aliens really makes you forget everything else.

    Thanks Bull...

I sometimes feel that there maybe a master CF quest, unknown to us, and OP is some sinister puppetmaster, herding us little pilots into a dark corner of space and watching us fight over pirate leftovers like a pack of wolves.

Or maybe he's the head of Victoria Secret's, and if we behave we'll get a discount on undies for our girlfriends.

I know your response already OP...

...Build a bridge and get over it...

    Am I close?

Once you enter Weth in DK space the news item talks about helping DK's against hostile aliens, but doesn't tell you how. Suggestion would be to add another news item to search the DK space for wrecks and then telling us to enter hyperspace to continue the quest.

I went into DK space from the Heiron side first then all the way to Menton, and then had to go all the way back. I was totally confused about the quest until I read this thread and found I was supposed to go to Dervon then through the gmg hypergate in omega 3 first, this would of then brought me to Menton.

I gather from reading this thread that a lot of new CF players that get confused about the quests, and end up doing them out of order, which only adds to their confusion. I know this was the case for me. Not all of us have 6+ hours to spend trying to get out of DK space once you're in there, especially when you're at work. OOPS!

Solving the quests is fun, but the clues are not as helpful as you might think.

It is good idea first go (or run if they disrupt you) in Weth and "save" and then go back and begin "training"

Good idea, I think I will.

I guess I'm not quite done after all. But I bet those hostile aliens are ringing the dinner bell right now, waiting for me to supply them with their daily supply of fresh pilot meat.

Oh well, just another day running through the inner core guantlet. Only OP truly knew the level of pain he's inflicting on us pilots who enter the inner core.
