going through the rift was my first "This is f amazing" moment

    Exactly!!!

I still get that way, plus I love the feeling you get when you are approaching the rift, you see it first, then it slowly gets larger and larger as you approach it. It reminds me of the way I felt when I finally got up the nerve to ask this cute girl to the school dance in grade 6. She was "hot" guys and certainly would of made the Punani list. :D

All forums are basically the same...what separates one from the other is the people and the content.

i like this forum because the people show a little humor in their posts, which keeps topics from getting real boring, real fast.

Reading all the posts above shows one thing...playing the mod is not the only thing that people need to do...they also need to contribute, maintain, and help build and support the forum...in order for CrossFire to have a continuing presence in the future.

My suggestion is rather than look at the whole problem, let's outline the forum's immediate needs, and work together on them one at a time.

Boy, I sound like my parents. YUCKIE!!!

P.S.We could always meet at OP's place have a BBQ and beers, watch a England vs Germany World Cup Final, then start working on CF issues. What do you say ladies?

I've played Freelancer since it first came out in 2003, and have played many good and not so good mods since then. For me CrossFire is Freelancer 2, it's a great (big) mod with many improvements and new challenges.

Now that I've said all that, I'm sure I'll get an invitation to OP's next Christmas party...

But seriously, I felt the true experience of CrossFire for the first time when I entered the SOL system through the dimensional rift. It was like something wonderful was going to happen...and so far it has.

    LOL...OP!!!

Finally I get to see the real OP...the picture tells me all I need to know...You drink the same beer I do.

P.S. My goal is to inject as much humor as I can into these forums, so you'll never know what to expect. I see you you fully understand.

    Welcome Shadow Tek

I'm still exploring this great mod, it's massive.

For me, the true CF experience began when I entered the Sol system and Altair, but you will probably be WOWed by the detailed graphics and space environment of the Inner Core.

The various quests are interesting, and the NPC's are a lot more challenging.

    Good luck, and ENJOY!!!

    Welcome Mongol.

You're going to love the guys in this forum, they remind me of the guys in Monty Python's Flying Circus. Of course, you won't understand a word they say.

P.S. Your english is a lot better than any russian I know.

"жить долго и процветать"...."live long and prosper"

    Okay, I'm done.

I've tried so many different strategies, weapons and equipment, and even different ships...the results are finally in...inner core hostile aliens killed 0...SP pilot killed 498.

Do you think there's room for improvement or do you think I should try medication when engaging these aliens?

I think I'll just go back to knitting socks for my friendly neighbourhood Nomads.

we can spoil the fun for peeps who want to explore and perform some tests, but still like to follow us at this forum.Pls reconsider this point of view.

    What...

Sometimes I wonder if you guys forget what it's like to play singleplayer. All you do is explore and perform tests on new ships, equipment, and improve your skills with fighting the variety of NPC's. So I don't understand you when you say, spoil the fun. The main reason I ask questions in the forums is to gather advice and good information from experienced players, for the sole reason of saving time. This mod is massive and anyway to save time is greatly appreciated by many players, believe me.

My intention is not to spoil the fun for anyone. This IS the spoiler forum after all, so just being here means players are looking for spoils and I'll guarantee you it's to help them save time when playing CF. Without the support the forum provides, many players would simply disappear and stop playing.

I know it may be hard to believe, but many players do have a life outside CF. So the time spent playing CF is very precious, and our goal is to make the best use of it.

    How's that for a "point of view"...007

Right now I'm in a coalition Saber with a Nemesis, Cataclysm, 2X DKA's, 2X War-sy's, Sunslayer, and a Hornet. Pretty good setup. Now it's up to perfecting my attack and defend strategy. I think it's just a lot of practice against those Dom's, and dealing with their speed and numbers. You really need to know what you're doing, in order to beat them.

...Can't wait for the satisfaction of beating at least one of these viruses...

I think I'll use the strategy I read in another post, regarding using the Ryssk jumpgate as a entry and exit into hostile alien space. What are the aliens in the Ryssk system? Maybe I can distract them with my overwhelming personality, and bitchslap them with my charm. Wish me luck...I'm going to need it.

Since entering DK space in the Inner Core galaxy, I've been mapping and exploring some of these systems, but I'm just curious if there are any secrets, like wrecks, that I should keep an eye out for.

Once your friendly with the DK's, travel is a breeze. I only wish that I would run across some hidden secret, like some bootleggers hidden base, where all the rough and foulmouthed DK's and some of those badass CF clans hang out and party.

The Dom's are by far the nastiest NPC's in CF. I haven't had a good whoop ass in a while like the one I got from them a few days ago. I love the idea of the Ancients being mechanical drones. This is really how the future of space military forces will venture at first. Just like in the movie The Matrix...IT'S THE MACHINES, THEY'RE COMING.

Bullwinkle...I didn't give up and I did exactly what you suggested. I forced them to follow me into the minefields around the Venn gate in Jormandar. It worked pretty good, but it took a few trys. The bonus of doing this, is that they dropped a few goodies for the arsenal.

These alien systems would be the best training ground for PVP and MP battles, especially when the clans start to clash like above. It's good fun watching you guys throw darts at each other.

Shockwave...that picture, LOL. You've either got to share whatever you're on with the rest of us, or stop sniffing your own farts.

P.S. I think the cute one on the left really helped with my headache from last night's gruelling experience. Cheers

Just curious about how to set back the Difficulty Scale in CF? For future reference.

At the GMG station by the hypergate in Omega 3, the news item that we need inside should say..."BEWARE...To All SP Pilots...Do not enter the Inner core unless you have the best ship and equipment you can buy...Because...the hostile aliens inside love fresh meat and will rape and destroy you, over and over and over and over again."

This would have helped me before I started my journey into the inner core galaxy. It was a gruelling 6 hour experience full of anger, frustration, and disappointment. I realized that I am at best, an average pilot, especially against such overwhelming odds. These aliens use a very effective fighting strategy...with one alien drawing your fire while the other three attack you from behind. The odds are against you from the beginning 4 of them to 1 of you, every time. Believe me I tried every trick in the book, but all I got for my efforts was watching myself die in all different ways. I was a little anxious about whether I would ever make it out here alive.

I finally made it to Weth, exhausted, frustrated, seriously pissed off, and with a thumping headache from all the corkscrew evading I did. This is the only time playing CF that I didn't get any enjoyment.

These aliens are NOT for SP play, you need to be in MP to have any chance at some joy. Before you tell me that it is possible in SP, all I can say is that's BS, especially for an single average SP pilot with a great ship and weapons.

The question I face is will I subject myself to such torment again. But at least I can share my experience with others who may find it comforting to know that it's not just them, the reality is the odds are stacked against you in SP if you plan on attacking these aliens alone. Good luck. :(
