It all boils down to one thing, jealousy, and the fact they simply don't like OP doing such a great job of CF. ( be that other members have helped along the way of course )

Thank you Huor, I just wanted to know what LR were referring to as virustotal shows only one AV program that detects a trojan.
-
that isn't exactly what I meant, I'm asking what file activates the launcher, ie, which exe file is it ?
-
what file is the launcher please ?
Not that I believe any of the claims as none of my computers ( 3 of them ) report any trojans.

I haven't played online as OP himself knows from other threads, but I do wonder if these new ships will available to those of us that aren't quite ready for online gaming, or just for those that are online.
I'm in favour of new developments, otherwise the game becomes stagnant and bloated, so yes I would like to see a step forward rather than keep the ships no one wants, replace them as one would in reality.
But I love experimenting, and to me, some ships are fine in the original FL Vanilla, but this supposedly some time after the nomad war, and it's a well known fact that war promotes newer designs, otherwise the jet engine would never have come about.
So my vote is YES, but in within reason.

I too have said about this, no Xenos around Detroit or the NY / Colorado gate, no rogues in any of the NY debris fields, no outcasts in Texas, no junkers outside of their own bases areas, I can fly through practically any system that isn't specific to a faction without once getting attacked, nor do I see any bounty hunter, police or navy patrols along their patrol paths.

I'm a Pink Floyd fan and I'm 58, but I also like classical music too.

Glad to hear you got it fixed friend.

It appears that this is a common issue with newer ATI Drivers see:- http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?p=1335304132
I used google with the keywords Ati+A debugger was detected

Thanks Op, ok, I apologise for getting confused about the dates, I already solved the black boxes, be that I haven't been to any DK / Nomad systems on my new rig, I've also had the operation on my left elbow to release / repair the nerves. I've played FL from the day it was released in the Uk, and I've clocked up as much as 16 hrs in one day playing it.
I've tried virtually every mod, only CF is anything close to perfect, which is why I respect you and your crew.
I wasn't complaining at all, I was merely giving my HONEST opinion, as I believe I'm entitled to do.
I will continue to support you, your staff and CF in general.
So thank you for clearing up a few points, I wish you well.

Where and what is the CF storyline huh? 84 yrs later and trent is still a young guy, Juni is back on Earth, also 84 yrs later, Orrilion has never been seen since, no hakkera, no tobias, the blood dragons still haven't taken control of tokyo, the Bundschuh are still fighting the same war, as are the corsairs / hessians, and the cardamine isn't being produced on Malta.
There's nothing to tell you where the black boxes / disks are meant to be delivered to.
What happened to the original storyline, it disappeared completely leaving Trent with no purpose for being around.
I can go from Manhattan to almost anywhere in CF without ever being shot at, and I can prove it.
As for the DK and Nomads, they never attack anyone other than the player, some storyline.
-
I've never played Freelancer/Crossfire except in single player, naturally I now play the Open SP as the storyline still sucks, Open SP I make my own rules.
-
I voted 3 as well, and I too agree with laser and OP, doing nothing is the worst thing for everyone, at least members here can see progress, have a say in issues and that has to be good for FL in general.
-
thanks for the news OP, but it appears my account isn't on the new site, and my original account was a few years ago now, so I think it fair to say I'm no longer a member with them.

Would I be correct in saying that the originator of the game ran out of funds and that's why MS took it over? and that it was because of the fact the original was far too big so it was cut down, but the first releases had the long intro until MS realised it didn't fit the new shortened game itself?
Thus I conclude that the premise that Earth was ever attacked to begin with never arose.
I would remind you that in the original game it said the DK vanished with no evidence of disease or war.
The war was between the coalition and the alliance, and later between the nomads and the alliance.
This suggests that the nomads were out of control and the DK were never hostile.

If I may add my views, not wishing to offend, but I was a member of TLR in it's earlier days, I asked why a question about Rowlett's Revenge and I thought it should be added to the weapons list, nothing was ever done.
I also sent an e-mail, which I no longer have, asking other FL questions, the answer I got was
Quotecontact Microsoft
I posted a few ideas for modifications to certain type of bases, I was totally ignored.
At least you guys listen, you're helpful, and it's why I like it here.
I respect you, even if I don't always agree with some of the things I've read.
I'm a moderator on a totally different forum, so I know how difficult some things are.
But as to who is the best isn't said in words, it's in what you produce, in what members benefit from.
So thanks for being who you are and what I have gained from being here.

Well, I've played quite a few games, Starcraft has a storyline, as does Broodwar; Tiberian Sun / Firestorm have storylines from either of the 2 factions; Unreal II had a storyline, Command & Conquer - Renegade the same, that's why they're called virtual reality games. Unfortunately, the original storyline in FL is pretty weak, and made even more so in OpenSP as they leave one wondering what the game is truly about.
I'm using OpenSP at the moment, Trent is supposedly the hero of the Nomad war, but if one looks at his journal, the last entry stops at Kurile, having just signed the deal with Lonegan, there's no mention of why he's at Manhatton, or the missions leading up to the war. As I believe, it's now meant to be 84 years later, assuming trent was a young man in the beginning, say 20 yrs of age, he'd now be an old man of 104 years old, and this, in my opinion, is where the game falls short of the mark. However, one could say he's reliving his adventurers, and the missions he completed in order to amass a very large fortune. But in that scenario, without his completed journal, none of the original characters, apart from a voiceover at Earth from Juni, would have ever have existed, the war would never have happened, therefore the DK and Nomad systems would never have been discovered.
To be fair to Crossfire and it's developers, they've done an excellent job, and 1.8 promises much more by way of quests, but again, one has to bear in mind the very reason FL was created, as a virtual universe, therefore I submit the following, the original FL was a recurring nightmare, a vision of the future and that the war is about to happen for real.
As I say, this only my opinion, and being new here probably doesn't carry much weight.

Not that I'm sure on this, but did you deactivate the mod or restore the backups in mod manager when you decided to change your outfit? as a similar problem happened to me until I asked for help.
It appears that the mod manager has a problem with deactivation, but the problem has never reoccured since I restore from the backups.

Although I'm new to the community, and that I'm not really into RP / MP I can appreciate the effort of the modding crew, maybe once my new Gaming Computer's built I may yet decide to join you online, in which case, I can wait.
But as I always say "In any Eventuality the Inevitable will Eventually happen and Invariably it Does"
