Hummm wearing "regular" correcting glasses for viewing/reading can have same effects when first put on... but can you say it is not good for health?

Maybe more a problem of "getting used to"?

(I think need more than 11 people to have accurate answers though - as well as long-term studies)

    Come visit France!

We warmly welcome people from all over the world!

You will feel very secure with first rate security policies....

You will be thrilled to discover our culture...

... as well as our very reknown food, like our famous bread...

... and will be able to learn about our architecture history...

(Luckily we have some weaked humour to save us  )

I have been having troubles to figure out Nintendo for 10 years now...

I would appreciate if anyone could explain to me what is the big deal with
    having some 3D graphics nowadays?

Or is it just to say they finally caught up with Sony's PSP (released in 1995)?

note: this is not irony or joke... I really do not understand...

Cmon... now it'll spread on the net and we'll all die ! why did you revealed the Divine Equation of destruction ?

Actually, this would be the equation of Eternal life!

    *caughs*
    ...As the limit of f(x)=1/x, for x=0(+), = infinity(+)

Errr... that was today's maths lesson...
    OK! I am out!

If i'm in a fighter - we fight, and if i lose (only 1 match is involved), i pay tax.

Although nothing forces you to do so, that is nice of you Shockwave.

I have a question though: is this something you do automatically even if the opponent would not agree to do the same?

From my experience, it is very rare to have any time at all to discuss about possible engagement rules...
It is usually more like: "Pay within 3 seconds or die"

I am thinking your way may be fair, and may personally adopt to do the same (unless respawn area is light years away LOL),
also provided I can still afford it after a few "deaths" (10M times "X" kills is getting a lot) hehe :)

    Tax/fine personal view:

Trying to tax or fine a pilot not carrying anything in cargo will surely not be successfull, compared as holding a 10M (or more) worth chargement.
The more there is to lose, the higher chances to get a "trade agreement".

Ex: I will surely not give out a tax higher than 100,000 credits if that is all I have to lose by fighting (that is just logic).

That is the "Art" of fining/taxing to me.... finding the right "prey", and adjust the requested money amount according to held cargo value,
to increase changes to be paid ;)
(also... charging 100% of cargo value will not lead to anything, as the targeted pilot will also lose everything - he may as well die since
it will be same result for him, and you will earn nothing)

(so when I see pilots automatically charging for maximum money I wonder if they are very successfull in the long term)

    This is pure economics!

    Just my thoughts anyway...

First of all, welcome to the forum BorealisD.

It is always great to see players that enjoy the mod, and are willing to offer some help to participate!

I was a big fan of starlancer (I still play that game sometimes, when I can find my joystick!), and I recently docked in x-3 and found the reliant, which I may have to purchase sometime just so I can run it into an asteroid and pretend it's a coalition carrier.

I like you already, same here!

See you in space hopefully :)

Unless someone wishes to challenge me in this upcoming week (come on guys!)...

I will adress a formal duel request to the player above me, that is |PX| Dark Raven

I am afraid you may not be able to skip the first mission before being allowed to move freely within New York system.

After being disrupted on the trade line, you have to manage to kill at least the first wave to be able to jump to planet
Pitsburg. Once there, you have some little extra money to purshase extra guns (I usually go for Lavablades as if having
a decent accuracy, NPCs may not have time to recharge hull/shields).

It may take some time at the start to kill them fast, but do not give up! Your skills will improve with practice and it will make it
much more easy, when you can finally wander around, getting money and upgrade equipment (before mission 2 anyway hehe) ^^

I am thinking to release my own Antivirus, that will randomly quarantine .dlls and ask for your
credit card to stop spaming alerts.

    How does that sound? :P

Weee!! I am gonna get rich!

    Ahhh Vardek...

If Sirius and Altair regions are not a challenge anymore for you, IC still is...
Those trips are never"walks in the parc", and even if you succeeded a few times,
it does not mean you will always do.

But isn't it what makes it challenging?

Dying and losing its cargo is never funny I admit, and can get frustrating after a while
(I usually take a break, or switch to a "calmer" activity within Sirius).

Believe me, the game would get very boring without those "incidents" though.

About respawns... I personally prefer being taken back in O3, allowing to head elsewhere,
than continously repop in... let's say Pyrrdra for example? with the chance of being
    blown up again when respawning...

In any case, do not give up and try again... Odds will not always be against you ^^

In order to get properly started, there are mostly 2 efficient ways to gather some precious credits (to upgrade ship/equipment)

    - Collecting escape pods from destroyed NPCs (fights may be long at this stage, but that will be good practice and experience) and
    sell them at Prisons

    - Trading goods: it is possible to get some decent benefits without needing to have long distance runs at first.

Once with some money (and lvl ups - collectings wrecks goods is also good solution to rise first levels), you may start upgrading
your ship/equipment - either step by step (ex: Starflier, Defender, Walkyrie, Eagle, better? with better equipment levels), either
a "top" ship directly (if you know where to find one that is).
Much exploration will be needed if you wish to find your "perfect" equipment, but you will soon notice NPCs will die more easily ;)

Hope this will help you (and not spoil too much). Do not give up! ^^
