The Black background for the reply text field is a bit disconcerting. One good new feature is showing all the contents of the PM folders: I had no idea the Forum was collating an "Outbox" for sent messages. I was able to delete 380+ messages dating back to 2005! Apparently, I also need to re-initialize my avatar somewhere, as soon as I discover where it has moved... :-|
There is a new ship available in New London which is quite adequate for the remainder of the game (even if a player is too lazy to explore Chugoku later in the game & find the way to a Sabre!). Anyone familiar with FL, and willing to fully explore the mod along the way in SP will be able to finish, though not many are skillful enough to do it in a Starflyer...
Well, this is true if a player is also playing other mods via FLMM. In my case, CF is the only mod I play, and when CF is the active mod in FLMM, the FL icon is replaced by the CF icon, and activates the CF launcher directly. If the installation is done correctly, one only needs to start FL from the CF icon, which bypasses FLMM.
But the point of the thread is that with the dynamic economy running again, at least once per day, one of those server restarts also cycles the economy files, so a full restart is required to keep the client files in synch with the server files, or there will be problems!
So, you need us to post it, because you are too cheap...er, poor...um, frugal to buy it? Does it have to be a video?
Perhaps if someone is having problems building a movie, even a PowerPoint slide show of CF screenshots would be good, especially since there are so many beautiful systems, and very cool music to accompany the images...
You need to update the "myflaccountid" in 2 locations when running CF, because there are 2 levels of exe files, one for FL itself, and one further down the search string in the /mods/cf/exe directory. When this second location is found, you will see that it is blank, unless you had already given up on that character, and created a new one.
To restore your old character, find the "myflaccountid" file in the CF/exe folder, open it with a text editor (like notepad) and fill in the blank field with your old FL account ID number. To check if the number was entered correctly, just double-click the app icon, ant it will pop up a window listing the FL account ID submitted by the mod launcher to the server. Good flying!
Could you re-activate the dynamic economy, or is it still too early for that??
Actually, I'm kinda lazy, so I just restarted my comp first, and FL launched just fine...
Note to cartographers: Dervon is missing from the Sirius map, Utopia is mistakenly shown as linking to Omega-11 instead of Omega-41, and there is no mention of the 3 nomad systems linking Lost Paradise (also not shown) with Upper & Lower Unknown. While you are at it, you might as well show the known links between the DK systems in Altair, which were not included on that map. Really looking forward to the complete maps!
On the other hand, I logged off early this morning in response to the update announcement, and now FL will not launch at all I have tried a couple of times, letting the launcher load its files, and my HDD absorb it all before pressing the "launch multiplayer" button, but FL will not launch...
[EDIT]: "Problem starting multiplayer...[E5]" First impression is that something in the last update corrupted my install. Now I'll have to waste the next couple of hours re-installing the whole works...
Welcome back to Sirius!
When you activate the mod, you can choose to deactivate the advanced shader, among other settings. I found the same effect with my older gfx card, but the current one works just fine, and it's 2 year-old tech...
