Hey! sorry its taken so long to reply have been real busy moving house recently, many thanks to abras for helping me escape!!! Pretty cool idea to have a maze like that as part of the game, i just reckon i need to smoke less pot when gaming in future, was just being stupid and jumping the holes randomly with no game plan whatsoever!

Hey! so im pretty new to crossfire and have been playing through open sp to familiarize myself with the new systems and whatnot, and have run into a bit of an issue. While cruising round chugoko I stumbled across a jumphole to hiruga, and having never heard of this system I jumped strait in to start exploring. Noticed afew random jumpholes when i arrived and thought i may end up getting lost so i docked at the base, i forget its name but its the first base you come to at this system and saved. After this I proceeded to explore for a while, and then decided to leave. this is when the fun started... I have literally been jumping from hole to hole for the past 5 hours now with no sign of any progress, i have tried loading my game and jumping through each hole sequencially, as well as exploring the forum for ideas but all i get are methods to escape this god forsaken minefield which dont seem to work! I duno if im being stupid, but i dont rele care anymore can someone please tell me which jumphole to go for? if not that at least what sector the cluster is? I cant take it anymore its like quantum leap, i just want the next one to be the leap home!

hmmm i must have missed something, I got the ragnarok datadisk from death valley and went to planet crossfire, where i learnt I should find earth by asking around, but I lazily checked a map to see where hyperion was as no one in the bar on crossfire had anything to say on the matter, and so here I am! I really dont want to skip any of the story and would much rather get the disks, but if I cant crack it soon that spoiler button is getting pressed

Let me start by saying mad respect to you guys this mod is too sick I have been trying to get a computer worthy of playing it for at least two years now and it has proved worth the wait! got pretty pissed off with redoing the vanilla storyline and cursed your improved AI many times But finally finished it and got exploring properly and all I can say is wow. Its like 3 new games added to the original, at least thats what I assume having looked at the maps Anyway on to my confusion, just arrived at sol (also mad respect for the jump gates n trade lanes in that system, really impressed !), arrived at earth to continue the CF story but the news report marked explosion is only half complete i think there mite be a glitch on my install where earths concerned aswel as i can here random snippets from vanilla cutscenes in the bar, like trent and juni talking so basically, could some1 fill me in on what the story says at this point/where to go next, and also tell me if this ghost cutscene vocal thing is unique or a common occurence? minor problems but i do need to know where to head next!!!

hahaha yea spotted it my way home! Couldnt pay a visit though, reps no good atm, so on with the story <yawn> at least im nearly done and can soon get the full crossfire experience!!

Found it! If i sell it will it affect the story? It tells me to head somewhere not a clue what system to look in but like I say I wanna finish the vanilla story first, even up my rep and so forth... thanks again for the advice btw you have saved me so much time its unbelieveable

You sir are a god among men I am on my way there now! Much rather explore a little and have a chase rather than have to deal with repetative trade routes and hundreds of bar missions hehe, plus this would be way more satisfying than cheating!! Found that X-3043 system very early on when going to rochester and noticing the custodian jump gate (couldn't resist!), but decided to save it till the end of the vanilla story so I'd have raised my level closer to that which I am accustomed to. However this is the perfect excuse to do a little exploring!!!

Right I have just started playing crossfire SP and while i am extremely impressed I have one major concern. Just arrived at Kyoto, and apparently I have to get 10 million credits to level up :o now don't get me wrong, i get the higher level requirements because new ships n weps are much more expensive, but this is ridiculous, especially as i have just checked my rep and am hostile to nearly all house corps. I read on another thread that the best way to rack up cash is to kill xenos and sell em to the prison in manchester, which would be cool as Im still neutral to bretonian police/military but because of the hostility from the corporations i just kno that when i arrive with my payload i will find the station turns hostile aswell. please tell me there is an easy way to get around this or a sneaky way to make money!! would even be prepared to cheat at this point since its SP not server!!!!

haha like I said feeling pretty stupid! just took a look at a full system(s) map on the forum and I have gotta say I am blown away! Can't wait to get exploring properly just need to crack through the storyline and get used to the new improved AI, always thought I wasn't bad at original freelancer, but this is a challenge to say the least! Realised i have gotta polish my skills considerably or I will get rinsed on the server for sure!!!

Thanks guys feeling pretty stupid just rebooted the game and it worked O.o. Definately guna jump on the server just wana play through the crossfire story and familiarise myself with the new systems etc, loving it so far!

Hi just successfully got crossfire running after numerous failed attempts, everything was going fine but got to near the end of the 1st original storyline mission where you fly to the rogue base near pittsburgh and the game wont recognise that I have reached the final checkpoint, thus initiating the other friendly NPCs to come and torpedo the base etc, cant destroy the weapons platforms or anything, thus meaning im perpetually stuck on this mission, which sucks as I dont even care about the original story having played through it numerous times, I just want to explore the new systems and ships! please help I have no idea what i am doing and have wanted to play this mod for ages now
