all 3 parts have to be in the cargo (NOT mounted), then you need 120mil and a re-dock, then the Cloaking Device will (normally) form-up.
Caution! The Cloaking Device is bound to your ship, if you buy another one, you will lose it and have to buy another 3 parts in order to gain another Cloaking Device.

every volunteer is accepted. meeting point is at Secret GMG Research Facility in Omega-3. SA-command already gave me clearance to use their operationcenter as our missiongathering. I'll meet all volunteers there. Be punctual.

personally spoken i think this is one of the major problem, people dont want to lose progress as they put much time into it.
I also thought about bringing SOC actually alive, but dont want to lose/recreate all my chars - so yes this is what people drives away, mostly. -

to point 1.: i actually dont always want to compare with Discovery but they made it that smaller objects bumps off the BS and IMHO it's pretty annoying to fly through an asteroid-field with a BS, it's nearly impossible to navigate through (especially in the Manticore).
So personel question: is it possible to make BS go "through" asteroids or even bump them out of the way? this would be pretty awesome! -

if these newcomers were registered to the swat-forum as they should be then they can have any question answered from anybody online. i doubt that any newcomer wont get any info about whatsoever - this is not the problem. the problem is, most of them are (as i think) simply not really interested in RP as we know it

We need some who can explain and organize some so called unofficial events.

yep as Cresthen said, it's even for trained pilots very hard to hit npc with missiles (actually for "normal" npc there should be no need). and this only works in direct dogfight - training there is highly advised and this couldnt be done better than online, with veterans who might give you some hints or tips how to flight/fight in space

but for the beginning (of Crossfire) stick to the guns and later you might use missiles (against nomads e.g.)P.S.: still no info to no.3)

Decided to look at Freelancer again after many years of playing and was delighted to find this brilliant Mod. Great work and thanks to the creators. I'm just using the single player game right now.
I do seem to have a couple of problems right now though, so some advice would help.
1. Missiles don't seem to do anything. Don't think I've had a single hit from the 50 or so 'Windstalkers' I've used. Pretty sure I remember missiles were useful in the vanilla version, so is this a bug for Crossfire?
2. It seems extremely difficult. I seem to get battered at level 4 even when I take on a level 1 mission and they last for 10-15 minutes in the dogfight. Maybe I'm missing the missiles. Not sure.
3. Can't remember if you can keep ships when you sell them or not. I'd like a frighter for cargo runs and a fighter for missions, was that possible in the original?
Any advice is welcome.

No.1) they dont do anything because they dont get a track, that's why NPC using now CM's in fights (not like vanilla), increasing the difficulty level to fight them. so it's advised not to use/waste money and weap-slots on these for newbies. So it's no bug, all fine.No.2)Yes, thats why NPC now using Bots/Bats in fights and their AI is much more increased. An advice here is to take a shieldbreaker weapon (stunpulse for example) instead of e.g. missiles, this increases your effectiveness while in combat.
No.3)IMO it is not possible without console-commands, but im not quite sure about this, so i cant really give you detailled information.
Hopefully these advices will help you in SP and/or MP if you decide to join us online

uhm no. i already meant the "freelancing" cops and mercs. there are just too little against the massive amounts of pirates crawling lately through the systems (mostly X^^)... all the rest are (i think) civilians who minds their own business, thus it would also be difficult to advice them an active part in the RP.

pilots must not sit in arena when they get summoned for RP-purposes this is clearly against the rules.
but hiring mercs is also some kind of difficult cause there are just a few (i know of) everyone else is either freelancer or pirate or smuggler...
server needs more coppers! -

though i think this game consumes huge fucking amounts of time and you need a community or at least some friends to play it really enjoyable -
uhm OP, i think it's not against the rules to sit all day in X and fight each other... but still it gets annoying thus there cannot be RP created.
