LOL. True to your avatar LP. Spoken like the "real" Capt Jack Sparrow . :D:D:D

BTW we should remember that not all use of bots or bats in PVP is intentional. I was fighting DC_Drakon or Red someone or other last night and, while, trying to strafe downward, I fat-fingered the strafe key and hit F. instant shield reload.
While trying to type "oops" into the chat window to tell him it was an accident, I got so distracted, he killed me anyway.

The moral of the story. Don't assume that every use of bots or bats in pvp is an act of cowardice. Might just be fat fingers in the heat of battle.

LMAO. Initiative is such an offensive quality in a law enforcement officer. :-)

There is no best VHF in Crossfire. Because CF is an exquisitely balanced mod, you can choose from several outstanding, well equipped fighters depending on your preferences.
The Shroud, Deathblade, Angel Wing, Reaper and others will all serve you well. Some have more cargo space (great for raids and escape pod collecting), some have more turrets or torpedo's. (good for multi-role use) and some are just extremey agile, which is good for pvp and dogfighting. It just depends on your priorities.

And there are a bunch of new VHF's in 1.62 that many of us have not even had a chance to fly yet.
It's a smorgasbord man. Jump in and help yourself. :-)

Ditto. Has happened in 1.61 several times in different ships.

I have an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 onboard graphics card in my HP Pavillon a1330n pc. maybe it's a graphics card issue. Or maybe it's the latest mutation of the Andromeda strain.

I didn't get an account invalid message. Just can't see the server. When I elect to hide servers with incompatible builds the server screen goes blank. Yikes.
Oh well, back to work I guess...

This was a minor issue in 1.61 too. Just hit F1, exit the game, and relaod your character. When you return to Sol, the jumpgates should be visible and usable.

I think what he said specifically was "no torrent shit". which I completey understand.
A torrent of shit is certainly something no good Freelancer would have any interest in. Although some of us have seen what feels like a torrent of shit, but it turned out to be a squadron of DK heavy fighters. ;)

The 3D sound is a problem online as well. If you are using 3D sound, it may cause your pc to crash when you go through a jump gate. Not fun, believe me.

So are you saying that both Lancers Reactor and Swat Portal are reluctant to host the download because of the bandwith limitations? If that's the case how the heck are we going to get 1.62?

Maybe it can be made available via password, in turns, to prevent everyone from dl'ing at once. Since money is an issue, perhaps clans could go first, then other players. (Clans pay rent on a monthly basis and could kick in an extra month's rent per clan or maybe an extra month's rent for each five members). That would help offset the bandwidth usage.

Then once the clans have all downloaded the goods, the rest could go, based on character level; Characters at lvl 60 and above one week, then 50, then 40, and so on.
This could spread out the downloading over a few weeks and get us into next month, which might help preserve Op's account so that the forum doesn't shut down.

I doubt it would work because everybody wants to get at the goodies NOW, but if neither LR nor OP can afford to make it freely available to the entire CF community at once, what are the options?

The vague 70's reference is from the opening sequence to an old American TV show called The Six Million Dollar Man, starring Lee Majors. He was a test pilot named Steve Austin, who was nearly killed in a crash. He lost his eye one arm and both legs, so they replaced them with bionics. He could run about 60mph. Of course, back then, cgi hadn't been invented yet, so it was all done with slow motion and cheesy sound effects.
    You didn't miss much. :-)

Well the war last year almost killed CF. I didn't take part, but it certainly made me much less incllined to join a clan, so I missed out on a lot of the benefits of multiplayer. So I can understand the suspicion of those who greet MW with distrust.

But, according to Blink's own posts on the other forum, he has gained respect for the lastest version of CF, has seen that the players are people with whom he wants to be associated, and has revised his opinion of OP.
Based on all of this, I think the decision to give MW a clean slate was a good one.

The recent shutdown after the failed beta testing of 1.61 was kind of like a death from which the Phoenix of 1.62 is being born anew-- only better...bigger, stronger, faster-- the six million dollar mod!
Sorry, had a 70's flashback there...
I'll be offline for a few days. See you all this weekend.

"In space no one can hear you scream."
That was the ad slogan for Aliens. I think about it everytime I watch Star Trek and the enterprise goes swooshing by, making not only sound but a doppler effect. Nonsensical, but fun.

The NY to Alaska jump gate has never been open in Crossfire. Op shut down some jg's to prevent the creation of a "super trade route". I think the Chogoku to Tohuku gate is also closed.

GAY-1's post was indeed spam and quite pointless... imho.

Very cool indeed. CF just keeps getting better and better.
