    I also registered on this site and now I feel as if i have cheated on my wife.. ;)


    tbh, i feel Roberts wont be able to to create anything better than Freelancer/Crossfire.
    As you said OP, more graphic's ( eye candy ) = more bandwidth = serious bad lag.


    But with that said, i don't feel that he could improve making a better Freelancer with
    its current game engine??


    Everything has been done, from Elite, Starlancer, X, to Freelancer.
    The only way forward to be honest, is Mods, add-ons, to further expand the game genre.


    If Chris Roberts were to do Freelancer 2, then it would be a Mod, or an Add-on for Wing Commander.
    He was a great bloke back in the day ( and most prob still is ) but i feel its time to let the new breed
    of Visionarys continue this type of space sim, AKA OP, Gibbon etc etc..

    LOL, yeah we keep on missing each other.
    OK, spent over 8 hours gameplay on New Universe and I must admit there are a lot of areas that need sorting out,
    regards to info cards and oc Commodities or the lack of in a lot of the Stations.
    Vertical tradelanes I thought was a clever idea, but it can sometimes be hard to find them if they are 40k up or down.
    But still fun and different, I like different.. :D


    Crossfire will always be my home, as its the only Mod that continues with the storyline, and oc the Innercore systems
    WoW they are a sight for anyone's eyes.
    A lot of work has gone into this project and a lot of coffee consumed and long hours to make it possible, which I am truly thankful
    to OP and the Dev team for doing so, Its a pity that some ppl can't see this.


    Crossfire stands out above the rest, I get fed up with people trying to compare it with other Mods, Disco being one, but what OP
    is trying to do is to make this Mod unique and to be honest, he has done that. :thumbsup:
    We DON'T want another Disco Clone.


    Ok, there may not be many ppl online, this could be bc of many reasons, the SP/OSP option for one, perhaps Crossfire 2.0 should
    be MP only like a lot Mods out there, this means they have to play it online or not, but I feel OP doesn't want this as he hope's,
    we all hope that ppl will come online after their SP adventure for more nail biting stuff.
    Also holidays, deaths,births and marriages,exams, and other real life stuff, will effect online activity, and oc , the leavers.
    But to be honest, if Crossfire would go, I would be proud to have the SP version installed on any of my computers, Always.. :love:
    So lets hope it doesn't.

    There is one I have recently tried called New Universe, the Tradelanes on there go at a speed of 10,000.

  • Crossfire Menu (F1) and Story Campaign

    Strange, F1 works for me in space, :P ( in MP )


    Also try Alt-F1, that may work, but don't use it in combat otherwise you will be fined and booted back to
    your last dock save.( but i think thats just MP )


    As for the extra mission, it would only take you a couple of hours to complete the original storyline to
    reach it, so i suggest ignore some of the missions to get yourself a good VHF and then do the
    storyline.
    That would make it quicker to complete missions.
    As for a save, sorry i don't have, but at least when you complete the storyline missions, you would have
    mapped quite a bit of the Universe.

  • Crossfire 1.9 Download problems

    As for a new name........Crossfire 2 "Continium"..I like the sound of that. ;)



    As for having the feature to build stations and have robot traders, trading for you, like the X Universe,
    that sounds good, but may be difficult to code with Freelancer, If it can be done using a different engine
    then that would open up all new possibilities for trading and indeed mining alike.
    But i will leave that to you Mod Gods out there. ;)



    As things look so far, very impressed indeed.

  • Genesis - A new beginning

    Great work Gibbon, looks awesome.


    I atm run 4 mods on my computer, a 5th would be awesome.
    Its people like you and OP, makes players like me come back and back and back to their cockpits.


    Crossfire brought me back from the gloom that was vanilla, still good, but something was missing.
    OP paved the way for me on my Galaxy Quest in 1.82, then 1.90, which was even better.


    I thought it can't get any better than this, then you Sir, Mr Gibbon come along with this little gem.


    I look forward to giving it a dam good thrashing.
