new installation of Crossfire 2.0 does not allow me to enter my freelancer mp account ID.

Hi,


Can you enter the freelancer mp account ID somewhere else other than in game?


I ask because when the game asks me if I want to enter my freelancer mp account ID it does not allow to enter it like the text field is locked.


I play freelancer usually on my computer but I want to be able to play my account on my laptop as well.

  • Thank you both for replying to my ticket and the information.


    I do have another problem.


    I only know my account id the one I received from running the hta command.


    When I use regedit to enter this the game creates a new id I am 100% sure I entered it correctly the reason I have to enter this manually is because when the game asks me to enter the id you cannot input any values in the textbox like it is read only.


    When I would enter my account id on a not modded freelancer I see my accounts on other servers


    Any idea how I can restore my characters on the crossfire 2.0 server with my account id?


    I did install the apps listed above but they need code and signature I only have account id.


    Any help is greatly appreciated and sorry for my delayed reply.

  • Hello CR2016.

    As far as I know, the code from myflaccountid.hta can only be entered directly in game on first launch. It won't work when put into registry, because accounts are stored in a different form, namely the two codes called key and signature.


    If you have another PC or another OS with working Freelancer multiplayer, you can get those codes from there, either manually or with the help of programs linked above. Otherwise, you need to install FL on a clean system (one where in-game keyboard input works), enter the code from myflaccountid.hta on first launch, and then extract the registry values.


    Finally, the third option is to find out why you can't type in the textboxes... I never heard of such problem, but here are some general troubleshooting tips to try:

    change keyboard layout/language,

    minimize the game (Alt+Tab or Windows key) and maximize again,

    change screen resolution to one of default 4:3 options,

    click on the textbox or press Tab until a cursor appears in the box,

    wait a bit before and after typing (probably it reacts to input very slowly).
