ASF/CSF is sort-of, kind-of working right now. Serverclans (those paying rent for a system) may allign themselves with one faction or the other. The ASF "wants" the reuniting of the Houses into the old Alliance, and the CSF to prevent that action and weaken the Houses. The map of Sirius is split between the two factions and they fight one another to gain more territory.

As far as clans go, you must have a unique tag for your clan and all of your chars must have them (example of tags XX_charname, (XX)_charname, {XX}_charname. and [XX]_charname (the underscores are optional of course, as are the number of characters in the tag). From there it's best if you declare your intended RP, and if you're going to rent a system select one, get payment going with the admin, and then get out there and start having a good time You can still have a clan if you're not renting, but it will not have the right to partake in the ASF-CSF RP nor own a system.
