Game crashes at loading screen - Log Attached

  • Hello,

I have had an itch to play Crossfire again after many years. I have tried the last couple of versions of the game launcher from the filebase and currently have tried version 0.9.12 with the same crashes as the previous couple versions I have tried. I am running 64 bit windows 11. Everything seems to go fine after a fresh install with my iso image. I have ran everything from the game install through the launcher as administrator. I have de-selected read-only for the exe and exe2 folders since I saw a couple errors saying the exe2 folder was in use by another process. I changed the graphics shader option back to vanilla fl which got rid of 2 missing dll file error from previous logs I didn't save.

Kind of ready to give up, but figured I'd give it one last shot through this post. Having to wait a couple hours every time I tried something new for an install like 8 times now gets old.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • There are permission related issues (your PC does not allow files to be written).

oh and "G:\Freelancer\" for sure is not your Crossfire Installation.

Crossfire is always located inside ".\Freelancer Crossfire\"

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

  • Thanks, I'll take a look this weekend. I have the gamelauncher file in g:/freelancer/exe and run as admin from there. Any idea on where I can change there permission settings? I've unchecked the read only box in the exe and exe2. Maybe I need to check the actual main freelancer folder.
