  • Greetings all:

I am single-playing Freelancer Freeworlds Star Wars TC Mod1.64.
Yes, it has single Player, yes. :) *

(* I say this, because most Freeworlds Star Wars TC mods do NOT have SP ability. This to avoid possible misunderstandings. Severe Asperger's and ADHD here, so I am well-known with such mistakes, I make them too often, lol. ;) )

Now, I headed into SP, to get pictures of a specific in-mod ship, the Sith Infiltrator.
Alas, there's a bug that kills the game when I jump system, and thus, cannot obtain said ship to get the pictures I need.

    Question is:
I have the Freelancer Save Game Editor, I opened the file without any problem, but ... I have no idea where to get the needed ship's ship_archetype code?

In what file can I find it, please?

    Thank you aforehand:
    Xogroroth.

PS, if you are intrigued by this ship, seen in this video:
    Star Wars Fan Film-Duality (2001) (youtube.com)
(It is the ship that brings one of the apprentices to the Challenging Area.)
then I am happy to share the pictures made. ;)

    Thank you aforehand:
    Xog.

  • That is not going to be as easy as you might hope it would be.

I don't know your starting point (if you maybe already know which 3d model file is used or not)... but let's just assume you know (I don't).

In shiparch.ini you will find all ship definitions including stats. There you can search for the file name of the 3d model to find the nickname of the ship_archetype.

Before you shout "hurray"... you can not use it for editing a savegame (I assume that is what you want to do).

Instead you have to figure out if this ship nickname has been used to create a playable ship already. If so you can find the nickname from the shiparch.ini somewhere in the goods.ini labled as a ship package. Copy this ship package name... and search for it in the same goods.ini file. You should find a ship definition with a loadout (engines, powerplant, etc) then. The nickname of this ship definition is what you need for your savegame.

However, in order to use it in the savegame you will have to convert it to a crc using FLdev or CRCtoolkit or probably a million other tools able to do that task.

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • That is not going to be ... (shortened to save space).

    Thank you, kind sir.

    Apologies:
I never received a mail, and just saw, I had a reply.
    Hence my late reaction.

Do you know how I can open the SP map in Save-game, please?
I am totally unknown with editing like that, I am afraid.

I had downloaded an SP Save Editor, alas, it refuses to recognise the installed mod, resulting in unable to edit the save game through it.
Same happens with IONCROSS Char Edit.

I have both installed in a separate folder, is this perchance the issue?
I have no idea where to put each to have the Mod loaded ... .

    Thank you aforehand:
    Xog.

  • Savegame editors work with every mod. There is no such limitation.

Most savegame editors however require additional files to run on windows these days. An error message would tell you which files are missing and have to be registered first.

    Thank you for replying, sir.

The editors work, but they do not find the mods content.
Do they need to be placed in a specific place for the editors to find the mod files?

    Thank you aforehand:

  • dunno

I don't use such editors, therefore I can not really tell what they try to do.
