This ship is imo the best used for special tasks. Back, in days when I played, it was succesfully used in actions against capital ships. It also nicely worked against fighters using mostly guns. However against missiles equipped fighter and good anotimissile defense it do not have much chances. Properly used (equipped) it can be also devastating against ancient drone(s), but you are limited in ammunition. It also can work for ambushes ... you go cloaked to place where hostile players "kemps" and release few capital ships torpedos .. result of these torps explosions can be surprising

Torpedos explosions easily can destroy all pods in area ..

Check you have the tractor beam installed, That can be something that is easily overlooked at times.
Hopefully an easy fix for you
