Player model and dialogue missing in bar scenes/cut scenes

  • Everything else seems to be working fine but Trent doesn't show up when talking to bar patrons, and the NPCs twist their heads awkwardly here and there as if looking for him in the void and talk to themselves. In cutscenes, the dialogue is there but Trent isn't.

Pretty sure I followed the directions to a t, deleted, reinstalled a few times, tried different models, fresh games. Starting the game new works every time, but saving then loading that save (not an autosave) turns the player into a ghost.

I am running this thing on wine so that might be it, but the fact that it works at all before loading a save makes me think it's something else.
    Thank you!

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • the heads moving strangely could indicate that the position of the player model is wrong... or even moving during these animations

But i dont know what could cause this since such positions are actually fixed.
