well, hehe, we manage to hack the files from someone and downloaded full Freelancer 2 BETA version.
but he said that nothing is working at the moment on BETA version. well, not nothing, he said that the game isnt complete, cause controls didnt work, and so on......

It is basically Freelancer 2, but made by different people, with a different storyline ect...

I remember that last year there was a group, on LR, trying to develope a freelancer sequel in a open source code. Never had no more news on that. In the other hand, some freelancer fans made a pettition to Microsoft to make a sequel - also, had no answer to this moment.

I don't mean a sequel but a multiplayer game developed in a open source code with the balance between conbat and strategy that freelancer have (well maybe a bit more stratedy wouln't be bad) would be great for the comunity.

Someone made the Vegastrike, I installed it and then I discouvered that it does not have multiplyer game (what a frustation), and if someone is thinking in try it, I recomend that you find a way of change that damm music.

Darkstar One... Damn simmiliar to FL

well when ive seen DS1 first time i thought "hmm nice FL mod" lol

same movement, same AI, same kind of cockpits, ill see if i can get a free copy or the demo somewhere to check if the FL engine is somewhere behind

I believe that DarkStar One will be very similar to FL but isn't the fact of have on single ship (even if upgradable) a litle poor?

I have dream with a a group of servers where our characters would be always the same and each server would have difrente parts of the universe. So we could jump between servers in a huge universe. Hehe, some itens could be in places where the we couldn't go just because they were to far (and lag would be part of the game) so we would have to buy this itens to someone.
this would allmost be a mmorpg and the economy a real dinamic elemete of the game.
